I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am looking for companies with terminals in Columbus. Told the closer to the terminal, more home time. Any advice/ experience?

what about YRC? do they have a yard in columbus? how about sysco, or US foodservice, or driving a cement mixer or dump truck?
go down to the teamsters local and ask them, all those jobs will get you home more often than any otr outfit, with better pay and bennies.skinnytrucker Thanks this. -
Just about all the Mega carriers have something around there.. But don't always believe that about the home time. As soon as you get close to the area they'll shoot you the other direction.

yeah, the only way i would look at a "mega carrier" would be if they offered you a day cab. anything with a sleeper and i wouldn't touch it. Werner used to do that, there were a bunch of people in my orientation class that were promised dedicated, home every weekend runs, and the next thing you know, "oh, we're out of all that, can you just hit the road for a little while until we get some openings on that board?"
home time= ltl freight, food service, beverage distributors, redi mix and dump trucks. -
