Driving truck isn't thankless enough for you?

[h=3]US Express has a re-training program. You can call them at 1-866-362-9304 to see if you qualify.[/h]
The incidents you had were minor. The only problem I see with being hired is the number of incidents in a short period of time and not having a lot of experience.
Maybe they will have a trainer that will train you properly. It should be the the responsibility of the trainer to ensure you are ready to go solo whether you completed all the Swifts training requirements. After you completed your training did a Swift supervisor pass you on a road and backing test?
My son was terminated for hitting a deer after three weeks driving with his trainer. The school he went to did not teach him how to down shift and his trainer did have the patience to teach him either.
There are good trainers out there. Good luck, hopefully the extra training will teach you to pay more attention to detail while your doing the ~2% of your driving. -
That's his story and he's sticking... Come on, terminated for hitting a deer? I'd love to hear the reasoning for that one.Tonythetruckerdude and G.Anthony Thank this.

Me too....since when did down shifting come into play in a situation like that....deer runs/walks out in front of the truck.....deer dies....or gets a really bad case of road rash.....

Arnold Transportion 866-234-3624Down shifting had nothing to do with him hitting a deer. That was the lack of training that was provided to him by the driving school and trainer probably lead to his termination by safety. I dont see how he passed his driving test at the Texas dps.
Answer to your question is that his mentor/trainer was sleeping in the back. After hitting the deer he pulled over to the shoulder to inspect the damage and let the mentor know he had hit a deer. They got out but there was no evidence of him hitting a deer and was terminated by safety for saying he hit a deer and the mentor telling safety that he fell asleep.
So technically he was terminated for a safety violation.tinytim Thanks this. -
So he didn't hit a deer or he did hit a deer?
-
sorry, going to have to say, there more to this story, no evidence of hitting a deer? Was there any damage to the truck? Did your son take any pictures? Dead deer perhaps? Have you ever hit a deer? There is normally some evidence, like a bit of fur, maybe a blood spot or two, but this is also the problem with companies that train but have them drive like a team, sorry! If your a trainer, and sleeping? Your not training, your just a team driver, trainers should ALWAYS have to be in the jump seat while truck is in motion!, so? Ask your son for the real storyTonythetruckerdude, G.Anthony and Big Don Thank this.
