Shaggy im a good driver i feel im safe. Keep a safe following distance. Rain i slow down. Curves i approach with caution. Turn signals i always use. If i have to park at a truck stop i park in the rear and make sure im able to back in safely. Unfortunately there is more to just driving down the road. Its backing and pulling out of tight spots, dropping legs, dealing with nasty attitude shippers and cosignees oh yeah and effed up truck drivers. You been ther b4 u were new oncecan u honestly say u never had a situation never whether u didn't report or not? Say yes and i dont believe u. Yall can miss me trying to knock me down my skin is tougher then u think my goal is to succeed in this field and cant none of you take that from me not a one

You are not a good driver, Not sugar coating this. Had 3 incidents and terminated. This follows you around for a long time. This is not bumping your POV or Fathers 4 wheeler, This is serious stuff and can and or will get you black balled from ever having a great paying job in this industry. Your other ramblings still should not effect your Situational Awareness.
4th chance is the charm, Find a local Ma & Pa gig without DAC and build from their. Come back in 6 months tell us you did not hit anything !GenericUserName and G.Anthony Thank this. -
Who r u to judge.....really miss me with ur insults ive had over 60 deliveries all ontime no complaints praised for being ontime from shippers and cosignees oh yeah even swift your so quick to bash me who the heck are you? Another driver that probably sits on his cb and degrades any trucker trying to make i wouldn't be surprised u blame us corporate drivers for driving the freight down fly down the hwy 75miles an hour and ##### about fuel cry cuz a 4wheeler is doing the speed limit and u want to run them off the road by tailgating.....i drive cuz i enjoy it not cuz i cant find any other type of work so i just judged u how does that feel.....go to sleep so u can deliver ur load on time
mr. yea Thanks this. -
I've also got something to say about your earlier post reference to how hard we are on dopers vs someone like this. A doper makes the choice to use dope, knowing that it will affect their driving, putting themselves and everyone else on the road in danger. They don't care, they make that choice. Some folks get away with it for years. DUI, whether it is drugs or booze just can't be condoned at all.
But someone who isn't well trained, but has the desire to be, has the desire to do the right thing, should be given encouragement. I will agree that some of her posts are a bit defensive, and some of them show a lack of willingness to accept her part in the problem. But over-all, from what I've seen here, there is no reason that she shouldn't try it again.
As I posted earlier, she may have a depth perception problem. Those may, (or may not, depending on what they are,) be able to be corrected. I'm sure you've seen enough of my posts over the years to know that I'm not exactly a wide eyed "everybody in the world is good" type of person. I just don't see this gal as needing to have a hard arse response at this time. JMNHO. -
Good luck driver.G.Anthony Thanks this. -
Shaggy just stop replying i asked for advice not your negativity so please just go away please
Shaggy Thanks this. -
2. What is the source of your generalization that "many folks should not drive a car?"
3. You're "not throwing her under the wheels?" I doubt anybody reading this would agree.
Everybody reading this thread gets your extremist position, to which you are entitled. You've made your point. Move on.Last edited: Jan 21, 2015

When first learning or first going solo there's no substitute for GOAL, and you need to GOAL completely (walk around all sides) at ANY time you think you have a POSSIBILITY of APPROACHING hitting anything. Early in my career running solo I had one blind side back I GOAL'ed 23 times (MJ's #).
Also, based on the OP's statement that neither trainer really worked with her on backing strategies I'd venture a guess that she didn't learn options for how to correct a situation when you aren't "hitting the hole" perfect the first time (and how often do we do that?). Knowing how to correct your position "on the fly" is important.
OP, if you are motivated to make a come back I'd recommend two things you can do on your own. First, get on Youtube and search for videos on backing. There are dozens of training videos available. Second, go get a remote controlled tractor trailer and set up your own "yard" at home and practice. Using an RM rig will give you a bird's eye view of what's happening. Many new drivers I've trained have real difficulty understanding how to interpret what they see in the mirrors and out the driver's side window with what's really happening behind them. Furthermore they've been taught and A-B-C method of alley docking that has nothing to do with 99.9% of the situations we face in the real world. Practice with the RM model until you can nail the dock every time with corrections "on the fly". I keep a RM rig under the bunk for training newbies that need it.
Then continue to fire out applications and be perfectly honest what happened and what you've done to improve. Somebody somewhere will likely give you another shot and it may mean going through training again, which would give you another opportunity to learn.cshellzbynow and Danvitt Thank this.
