    Three things:
    1) NEVER, EVER use cruise control in traffic or when it's raining/snowing. Illegal, and VERY dangerous. Cruise should only be used on the highway when traffic is reasonably light.
    2) He can always haul rocks.
    3) He's old enough to take care of his own problems, rather than having a 'helicopter parent' do it for him.

    Ramdom thoughts about this.

OK he was "along side" of the bus.
    Why would he stop?

He was along side of the bus. Was this on the dash cam?
OK no big deal, they pull a lot of people over.
No he isn't, he is to call if he gets into an accident or gets a violation.
This is where I am truly wondering why. If you are in a residential area, using cruise control, this means he is lazy enough not to learn how to control the truck. Cruise control does cause problems in the rain.

Also his trainer should be addressed about this policy.
    So?

45 minutes is nothing, it took me 45 minutes to read this thread but so what, it he is on the phone with a potential employer for 45 minutes, then do it.

I wonder why too, 23, almost 24 years old, he needs to stand on his own.
He has time, he has a lot of time, he is on the computer looking for work so no excuse.
NO he shouldn't say a word about either of the reasons, all he should say it is a policy violation and tell them about the residential/cruise control policy that wasn't explained to him through his trainer.
That's BS. I live on a road that has a speed limit of 55 and is considered a residential area.

Just the 7 months at Schneider, all OTR. He went through a trucking school at the local community college.
