Look , just call a lawyer so he can tell you you have no case and you can give it up . It was your choice to bring the dog on the road . You put the dog just as much at risk in areas where there are no idle laws . Many shippers and receivers do not allow animals on the premises so you have had to leave the dog behind when you entered the property . You could have had an accident or breakdown in freezing weather and had no heat . It was your decisions that put the dog at risk , not the carrier's .

I was talking about our (parents) family dog
My neighbors who live in the city keeps his hunting dogs out side all year
Hey I feel for your situation, very hard going
Next time don't bring a dog, unless you can fully provide for him -
That explains it . Hired out of Florida . Probably never drove on snow or ice in your life and decide to be an OTR driver . Then you can't handle it and park repeatedly when things get a little slick and that causes you to get terminated . You brought the situation on yourself and no one is responsible but yourself .psanderson Thanks this.

First off - I came here to ask advice, NOT to be attacked.
Secondly - I grew up in ice and snow in the snow belt outside Lake Erie. BUFFALO! point of fact! so I'm well familiar with it and had NO problem driving through it. (down shift, easy on the gas, slow down, relax and drive the truck)
Third - w/out trying to assign blame - it was my partner from Arkansas (also snow country) who did the shut down (I was out of time - line three, Alpha Hotel) - according to COMPANY POLICY, NOT through lack of abiity! Too late I realized that company policy doesn't extend past the terminal gate.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 2, 2009

I doubt if anyone here is attacking you personally. You have a weak case at best. You would be better off spending your time and energy trying to find a new job than complaining about how they treated you. If you should choose to get back on the road with your dog, it would be a good idea for you to keep at least a couple of hundred dollars in savings so that you can handle emergency situations.

Not attacking you . As far as advice goes you reject all the sensible advice .

OK, if your attitude on the job was anything like it is showing here, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM! No body was attacking you, at least up until now.
You came here for advice, but want to argue any thing that is said. You've been told to contact a lawyer, and PETA, but you just ignore this good advice and come back with crap.psanderson Thanks this. -
Good point
Hey guys lets just let this one rest
Krdog good luck!!!
I hope things turn around for you!!!!!
Krdog Thanks this. -
My attitude on the job was fine until confronted with some of the unmitigated crap that I had to deal with working for the Coven. Only then did it turn south. I have recieved some good advice which I intend to take but I will not sit by idly while aspersions are cast on my courage and driving abilty. Just because I'm from Florida gives NO one the right to assume I'm afraid or incapable of running a rig through snow ad ice. Would asking if a good lawyer is paying attention to these posts be violating the rules?

This whole post sounds like a personal problem caused by the person. You're lucky they gave you the money for the bus ticket.
