The batteries won't last for 1M miles.

What's the cost of replacing the batteries every 6 months? Because that's about how long they'll last.

That's the elephant in the room that nobody's talking about.

Cost of a recharge is also not mentioned.

Variable costs are the biggest thing about operating a truck. And the variable costs are conspicuously glossed over.

Well there you go, they making trucks for those guys that complain about straight pipes, shifting gears and stinky exhausts. The same guys that complain about guys in peterbilts riding with the seat on the floor and tall shifters. So tesla responded with an answer. This truck rumor has it that it comes with extra high seat and no shifter at all. no loud pipes, no diesel stink, no gears. Buy now it comes with driving gloves like jack cruise wore in black dog. Plus headsets for your phone like the army tankers wore lol. Its basically a born to be corporate but turned truck driver truck

I'd like to know how much of a loss Tesla is taking on each truck to be able to offer such a price. Are they hoping to pull in some sort of gov't subsidy to sustain them long term?

Nope, they hoping WalMart, and JB Hunt will pay full price, that they can make millions , and will repeat Model 3 scenario.
    About price loss...
Search how much used Tesla cost, and compare it to Mercedes S class (cause its cost somewhere the same brand new) in 2-3 years Tesla loosing more then 50% of its value...
