Due to it's weight it's local applications will be limited. Things like package and mail delivery are possible but I don't see it being practical in bulk local applications.

Maybe PepsiCo should’ve asked everyone’s permission before trying out the Tesla. Clearly they’re wasting their money and that money could’ve been spent elsewhere.

They've got enough power on one charge as the average household uses in a month or something, but somehow it doesn't have enough energy to sit in traffic for a few hours?

I thought the Tesla truck that is the topic of this thread would be classified as an OTR tractor trailer.
It did take a 500 mile trip away from it's home base didn't it?
It sure looks like Tesla is breaking into the OTR market to me.

    Maybe I am confused.

    Sure does.
but look at the amount of press the Tesla truck is getting relative to the Mack refuse truck in your picture.
Compare how many $'s/Engineering time Tesla has invested in his OTR tractor relative to how much Volvo/Mack have invested in their EV units.

    Siinman Thanks this.

Yea, you're confused. I'm currently on a 600 mile run and will sleep in the same bed in my house tonight as I woke up in the morning. Simple fact is no electric semi has advertised as being OTR.

Sure it does, what makes you think it cant sit in traffic, not using any power? If you stayed in the city only you could go over 1000 miles. Getting into highways speeds is what kills the charge quickly.

    rogueunh Thanks this.

I am hoping we can all drive hydrogen trucks in a few years. Imagine no more DPF ########.
