Assuming everything they say regarding that test is truthful and the entire truth. Nothing against electric vehicles but lord knows how companies like to mislead, conceal information, and even blatantly lie to make their products look better than other products.
'Hey everybody, look how this electric truck want 600 miles weighing 80k on a single charge over mountains (using the high end custom model that costs 75% more because it has a higher capacity battery and stronger motors, and the battery has a 50% shorter lifespan), come buy one!'
(P.S. that's just a random made up example, don't take it as truth)

You can’t just plug in a dozen megawatt chargers into the grid and call it good. The grid isn’t designed for such large, sudden, irregular peak draws. Each charging station has its own storage batteries, in Tesla’s case a couple of Powerpacks or a Megapack, which continuously draw at a low level from the net, and in turn provide the bursts of power used for charging vehicles.
A side benefit is that charging during a power outage isn’t much of a problem, unless the outage is prolonged for a long time.Rideandrepair, Another Canadian driver, 86scotty and 6 others Thank this. -
Oxbow Thanks this.

Another thought: batteries die after a certain point. They get less effective over time. With all these batteries in the charging infrastructure and in the truck, what's the replacement cost going to be compared to the cost of diesel over that same time. For your daycab.Bean Jr. and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
