Still less then not intrested. Couldnt give me an auto.
broke down plumber Thanks this. -
Paccar is supposed to be coming out with an 18 speed automated transmission. The splits aren’t bad with my 12 speed so the 18 would be overkill for legal 80k gross loads. Mine will already skip gears when I’m empty or loaded light.

From what I understand, it's just a rebadged endurant. Could be wrong tho.

I was the same way for many years, because I remember what POSes the old Eaton AutoShifts were. But as of a few years ago I drove a few trucks with UltraShifts, and they're all right if they're programmed correctly.
But no matter what, I will always prefer a manual. I've always loved 13 speeds, and always will.broke down plumber and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
Friend just got 8 ultrashifts last year....every single one of them have been shop queens over the computers in them and he is dumping them all for 18s. Im unimpressed

Why would he get Ultrashifts when Eaton offers the Endurant which is the improved version of the transmission? The way the ultrashift and endurant shifts are miles apart in my opinion.

Not a clue his business his specs. Just what the dealer speced them with afaik. All i know is the things are constantly throwing transmission codes and having to be towed in and have since the day he bought them.
Regardless i wont knock anyone who wants an auto, im sure there are valid reasons. But you wont catch me dead buying one unless they totally get rid of manuals and evem then id likely just retire out and do something else. To many downsides, too many problems, too expensive to un####, too many #### "need a dealer to even diagnose" issues with the computers, too unreliable imo.
