Actually, that stretch of i-30 has had many fatal wrecks in the last few months, including one over this weekend with college students.

That little mixup made me worried that *I* posted the wrong additional news article link, and screwed up.

But as everyone here knows, I never make mistakes. ........... Yeah,, right.... Bwahaahaaaa!

No biggie, Joseph... mixups happen on occasion to all of us.

Seriously,, the reality from what I see on the roads, is that bad wrecks and fatalities are going to keep increasing.More & more motorists drive without any regard or concern for safety. Especially the dangers of higher speeds, and what dangers/fatalities can result from the kinetic energy of their vehicle whether it is a small 3000 lb compact 4-wheeler or a 80,000 lb semi, and whether it is flying down the highway at 65+ mph, or going 40 mph amongst city traffic.

I seriously think the current driver training for cars needs to be looked at and re-done. There is a lot more traffic and it's moving at much higher speeds on the freeways than it used to and I feel that people are not properly trained how to drive. At least in my unscientific opinion it seems that way.

At a minimum there should be a section of driver testing and training to teach people how to drive around big rigs. Much more enforcement needs to be done for tailgating and for cutting in front of trucks.

You know what else would be good? A section of driver testing where the trucker wannabe's basic operational and backing skills, and overall safety awareness was properly tested before being issued a CDL license.

Maybe you were exhausted from your elog forcing you to drive tired due to available hours ... For every super trucker that elogs catches it causes many more to drive tired or much quicker than when they could fudge a nap into the day when plans go off track
