I don’t wear a mask at all and haven't caught any bug this winter, flu or cold. Amazing.

Professional and Home-Made Face Masks Reduce Exposure to Respiratory Infections among the General Population

"Any type of general mask use is likely to decrease viral exposure and infection risk on a population level, in spite of imperfect fit and imperfect adherence, personal respirators providing most protection. Masks worn by patients may not offer as great a degree of protection against aerosol transmission."

Again, it's a study that's not about the spread of viruses, but of water vapor. Limiting the spread of water vapor may or may not limit the spread of the virus. So far there is no study that states limiting the spread of water vapor, or for that matter any other thing a mask may or may not block. There is, however, an actual study on how non medical masks makes the mask wearer more likely to be sick while not decreasing the infection rate of everyone else, both medical grade, non medical grade, and no mask wearers.

Even that paragraph is an opinion piece based on assumptions that have yet to be tested.

Look, all I'm saying is that one cannot state that wearing masks is a science based decision when there is no actual science out there that non medical masks do anything to prevent the spread of viruses. Heck, it may come as a shock to a lot here, but I actually think masks do help, but I'm the first to admit it's a 'feeling' with no actual data backing it.

Texas reopens fully....ahhh.... it's too soon. Corona hasn't gone away. It hasn't really got under control. I'm not about to get in the debate about whether masks work. It's a pointless debate, and I've gone through once or twice in other threads. I'm not influenced by truckers who really don't have the knowledge about it, just a Google machine to find articles/studies that fits their narratives. I will listen to the health experts because they know more than any of us on here. If you don't want to wear the mask and do other things to protect yourself and others, do you. As for me, I've been in my little bubble(my truck) for the last year, and I will stay in my bubble until this thing gets under control, regardless of who lifts restrictions. I will continue to wear my mask in Texas, so that's that.

Sad to say but a lot of doctors are quacks. They just want to prescribe pills rather than go after the root cause of something.

It's not an opinion piece, it is part of the abstract from the study.

    Also from that study:
"Opportunistic data collected during the SARS epidemic in Asia suggested that population-wide use of face masks may significantly decrease transmission of not only SARS but also influenza"
You're not going to find a study that effectively tests masks as a single vector. There is no feasible, ethical method to do so. Yet if one looks at the SARs outbreak in 2003, when masks and social distancing were mandated, all diseases with airborne transmission dropped, while those with blood borne transmission remained stable.
Respiratory Infections during SARS Outbreak, Hong Kong, 2003
"Although our study was observational and thus could not establish a causal relationship, it suggests a possible association between population-based hygienic measures and the reduced incidence of influenza and other acute viral respiratory infections. However, the relative contribution of each of these measures could not be estimated in our study."

Mask wearing isn't a panacea. It is one tactic of a larger strategy to deal with a novel virus.
