Already priced drive tires to replace my drives.... Michelins... and going with yokohamas .
Can't beat a michelin but they are out of the universe on price ....caps definitely have their place and application but not on what I do .

Is it the heat, or the speed that the trucks are being operated?

I think it's a combination of both. I don't think it makes a difference whether it's a recap or a virgin. I've blown both. Lack of air pressure, too much speed plus heat equals blow outs. In other instances, hitting a pot hole or bump the right way will cause a blow out as well, the tire experts call that the impact split

Tires generate heat from road travel. But when the road surface is extremely hot. I'm sure that would help to melt the glue on those re treads. In 2013 it was so hot in south TX it looked like the road started melting!

If it was an asphalt road the road tar can actually start seeping to the surface!

I'm fixing to have my 9th tire replaced on the same axle in the past month all recaps. 6 of them are the same exact tire had this one replaced last night 100 miles up the road the one before that made it 15 miles before the tread came off.
