Brother, you're going to have a hard road ahead of you if your mentally is the same down the road as it is today. I'm sure crap products still go out of TPT and your single complaint didn't fix the occasional poor employee workmanship. Granted, you got a trailer with some issues, but living in a "refund me or replace it" world isn't realistic. That's why you lost so much money on a lower cost replacement trailer. Since the GM agreed with you, it sounds like he was willing to own, address, fix and repair the issues you had with your original trailer had you give him the opportunity. Also, I hope you realize that DOT wouldn't have warned you on tires that met 85% of your GVWR because they factor in pin weight, which you didn't. That unloads about 4-5k from your GVW. So unless you were grossly overweight, you shouldn't have had an issue.
I know you're trying to make your story sound as bad and irreparable as possible. But because of your lack of patients and your over response to the issue, you lost out on a higher end trailer and continued to throw money at a trailer that was not the original choice. Sometimes the bigger picture is worth looking at first.

My original trailer had to be broken down to pieces to be fixed and repainted. A week or more lost as soon as you are starting out means I would have lost a lot more money than the few grand I lost taking the cheaper wedge and continued working.
I think for someone who has an account since 2017 and remained mostly quiet until this texas pride review post must mean you are somehow connected to TPT.
If you read through all this post, saw the pictures and still think I should have accepted a defective product twice then I guess there is nothing else to be said.
Have a good one man and I hope your brother has zero issues with his new TPT trailer. -
Your story caught my eye because I was looking for feedback on trailers since I've personally had issues with mine. I honestly don't think TP makes a great product. I still think PJ and even Big Tex are better in many ways. My next trailer will likely be a Diamond C since they seam to have the best reputation.. your story just looked like an inexperienced operator who was not doing his research and being overly aggressive about a product that could have been fixed. I'll personally not buy a TP trailer but you sure are negative about an experience that many would have gone a different route with. Your story just sounds super fishy that's all.
Good day -
Did you read this thread from the beginning? If so, you should have seen the defects that the OP initially pointed out. He did a good job with it too.
Yeah, if I'm buying a new trailer, it had better be built right. Then, when he tried to rectify the situation, the way he was treated was wrong, not even counting the amount of time and $$$ he lost in the process.
Should he have gone over it when he first picked it up, yeah, probably, because most everything built today is junk. Let me ask you this, you go and buy a new car from the dealer, do you jack up the car and inspect every little detail on it right then and there, no you don't, as you assume that because it's new, it's built right.
One thing's for sure, I'll bet he doesn't make that mistake again.. Sounds to me like the trailer mfgr has some serious quality control & inspection issues, let alone customer relations.
To @24kHotshot, thanks for the heads up and sharing your fiasco. I hope you get things straightened out and prosper.....24kHotshot Thanks this. -
I think my main issue with all this is because as a RV transporter, I know how poorly they are constructed and don't expect any of them to be that good upon delivery. I approach trailers a little different since I deliver them for a living RVs. I don't really compare a vehicle to a trailer because the level of quality control and machine automation is so different between trailers and cars.
I just expect that trailers are built like trash because everything is done by people instead of robots. I think alot of the people putting them together are on crack or something.
I am sorry that I made it seam as if the OP was responsible for the problems. I just have a very different opinion on these manufactures since I see so many towable products in such crappy condition from all the factories.
Sorry bro, I just feel that you'd be hard pressed to get anything better from any other trailer manufacture. That's the sad story and truth of it.
I do go over every trailer I deliver with a fine tooth comb, because the dealers will blame it on me if I don't document everything I see before unloading or unhitching them.
I'm tainted by my occupation I suppose. -
I deliver rv's as well. Amazes me sometimes the lack of quality that leaves the factory.

Those things are overpriced junk. I pulled Forest Rivers for 6 months out of Indiana for one of the many companies over there and didn't take me long to figure that one out. And the liability is high dragging those things on the ground with no protection on the nose from rocks or whatever. Not enough money in it to be worth the risk IMO.
As for freight trailers you would expect them to be built to a higher standard but not all of them are going to be good enough for heavy OTR service. You're gonna get what you pay for there. There is a reason why a decked out Shipshewanna or Kann roll off trailer costs $30k.Last edited: Feb 17, 2020
