Looking at joining Roehl in July and running the Texas Regional. Anyone currently in this division, some info on miles you're running, home time, and where you're actual running would be appreciated. Also, your overall opinion about Roehl and/or this particular division would be great, thanks.

East Texas Regional is a new regional that just started up. You will be experiencing the pain of being one of the original drivers on a new program. They have been having problems getting enough drivers. There doesn't seem that all that many Texas Roehl drivers are interested in regional. Years ago they had a fairly decent number of drivers as they had the 7/7 and the 7/4-7/3 fleet down their but they eliminated it. Part of the problem of the regional is that you take 2 cents a mile less for pay than national. That goes for O/O also. Sounds like most of the running will be on the eastern side of the state to start with expansion into other surrounding states. They trained a few new drivers back in April-May down in Dallas but it seems like that ended after just 4-5 drivers going through the program. Good luck.

Thanks TexasPhoenix, appreciate the info. I'll give it a shot and if the miles aren't there then I'll switch to the National Fleet. I'm about to retire from the military and have been off the road for 12 years, I'll have to go through the 3 week school as a refresher, but the cost of the school is waived because I was in the military. After researching the options out there, Roehl seemed like a decent company to get back started with. Anyother information you can share about the company would be appreciated. Be safe out there, thanks.
