I took a loader to Texas a couple months ago and my truck took a ####. So yesterday I flew back in to pickup my truck and the only loads I could find back East we’re under $3 a mile. Now they were lighter 5 axle loads (couldn’t find any heavy) but yet some still needed permits. I deadheaded to LA and still crap.
I normally stay in the Southeast, is this normal for the TX, LA area or have rates plummeted during my 2 month break?
Texas RGN rates…WTF

its so hard to find a load from LA to Midwest that pays $2 per mile. today i saw only 2 multistops loads from LA to Indianapolis area with $4000-4200 on it. ! pick 1 drop dry van loads were $3200-3600 . And after noon many of them were gone from load boardAnother Canadian driver, Phoenix Heavy Haul and JonJon78 Thank this.

I know rates have dropped but today was insane, literally called on multiple loads and they wouldn’t budge.
I was so mad I deadheaded from Dallas to Shreveport rather than take a load that was otw here for $2 a mile.Another Canadian driver, RJM1953, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this. -
They won't budge because people are hauling loads for next to nothing these days.
If the load pays for fuel and a roller dog they are good. Who cares about making the truck payment.Rubber duck kw, OLDSKOOLERnWV, RubyEagle and 5 others Thank this.
