Email and text are all time stamped. I had one the other week ask if I got the bills signed and times on there. I said nope I sent you a text when I arrived and I sent you one when I was empty. They are time stamped. I don’t play that get the bills signed ####.D.Tibbitt, LoneRanger, HoundDog7 and 1 other person Thank this.

I had one cancel today. I was supposed to pick it up Friday. Someone came in and loaded an identical machine but didn’t check the serial number… well they took the wrong one. They can’t just load me with the other one because mine was sold and isn’t a rental. I’m not charging a tonu for that. I’m not out anything except the 5 minutes it took to sign the rate con. I however do quote super high. I don’t care about being competitive. Sure I get outbid some, but I’m still pretty busy.LoneRanger, HoundDog7 and RJM1953 Thank this.

How you quote is your business. I don’t think one way is better than the other. I run mostly just regional and have for a number of years. I know most of the players both shipper and brokers. I know what shippers are time sucks and I’m up front with the brokers. If this place is notorious for being 3 or 4 hours I’m adding it to the front end and I won’t raise hell for detention. I also don’t call on a load with a broker I’m not currently setup with very often. If I do then they must have a seasoned MC number. Preferably 6 digits or less.HoundDog7, D.Tibbitt, blairandgretchen and 1 other person Thank this.

Being regional and generally no more than 500 mile length of haul I price just about everything round trip. That way I’m not stuck taking scraps or sitting looking for a load only 7 hours from home. If I find another load great, and if I don’t I beat feet towards home.
HoundDog7, D.Tibbitt, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this. -
Komatsu?

It’s not much of a life trying to live in a truck. The adventure is long gone.HoundDog7, D.Tibbitt, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this.

Oh I gotcha. Keen has become a #### show lately too. I’d rather load out of the port.

I don’t deal with Dundalk. Keen can be extremely tight. They will pay up when it’s hot, but mostly the loads I get that come out of there aren’t through them.
