    Depends who tuned the radio.
I ran a Texas Star DX 1000 and also a Texas Star DX 1600 V in a Kenworth T600 with no problems but other people have encountered issues because they had a different technician than I did.

It could cause problems, and then it may not. One things for sure, if you run some sort of snipped clipped coil spread radio that throws a dirty signal all over, an amp is only going to make it worse, and could have an effect on the truck.

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

I have seen it once where a fella had a home made 1000-2000 watt amp...Every time he keyed the amp with his mack on high idle all the gauges went nutz....Sence then i have been told by techs that big power(anything over 300-400 watts)will mess with qualcomm and trucks ecu..

I ran a 667v only problem was tach and speedometer would get goofy also ran a 4 pill fatboy with no issues just run directly to battery with a inline fuse close to the battery you'll be fine.

Antenna to cab and cab to frame, never ever had an issue.
I like to keep ground strap as short as possible.

Funny..So many say it works and many say it doesnt....I have seen it as being called a ground loop (a problem)...
