My buddy just sued TTE here in Houston for defamation of character, apparently after you quit they're putting they fired you for safety reasons on the employment verification form, that way their competitors won't hire you since you're a liability, they prevented my friend from getting a job with their competitors, until one carrier finally made him aware of TTE's response. That same carrier told him that EVERY TTE employee that applied was getting the same "fired for safety reasons" on the employment verification form, which they're not supposed to do. If you leave TTE be aware of their tactics, before you quit write a letter saying you quit or put your 2 weeks notice in writing. Steve from safety is black listing drivers. I think this is the reason I had trouble finding a job after i left them, I'm also pursuing a lawsuit after finding this out from my friend.

Don't surprise me...i worked for them years ago and found they were gyping $$ from drivers and such along with deliberately neglecting on maintenance too..

I've been hauling fuel for 20 years only 2 companies, I've met a lot of TTE drivers but mostly at the Beaumont terminals ( Motiva and Sunoco ) I believe I've only met one or two driver's that's stayed with them awhile!

Here's the companies i know in Houston that haul fuel.... A circle k driver told me he has a daily minimum pay of 300, gopetro has 250-275 daily minimum, r&b Stewart pays 24-27an hour, Suncoast is there lowest paid at 19-20an hour, pct by Kenan advantage pays by the load, lowest load pays $51 for 5 miles with 1k a week minimum, petroleum express pays load pay plus percentage pay they make it more complicated , they don't pay everyone the same, the percentage is different, they would be my last choice right there with Suncoast, jam i heard pays like 23 or 24an hour but they're more picky and have cameras in the cab, costal transport will hire you with no experience has similar pay per load like all the others, you only need to go to one of the driving schools in the list like hccs, Lonestar, etc... Which is the best option i think if you're trying to get your CDL, community colleges charge like 2500 for the program and it's only like 10 weeks... Dupre advertises 1500 a week average, not sure if they have a minimum guarantee.... Like i said circle k sounds good but that's coming from a driver, i can't confirm the daily minimum....

Thanks for the info! I have my CDL with a few years flatbed experience. I'm trying to get into fuel hauling. I have an opportunity with TTE and CAPT requested an interview for next week.

    Both are pay per loads.

It’s no surprise…jeff the safety mgr was working there when I worked for them back in 03 and let me tell you that company is as crooked as you can get… They would demand drivers to drop regular unleaded into super unleaded tanks which is illegal, they would not repair safety related items on their equipment per shop mechanics who informed me of that which on a regular basis… There were nights that there was a problem with the truck that would cause a safety problem and they told me to go ahead and take it out that night anyway I would load everything back up in my car and I went home for the night….. Jeff is an underhanded sneaky stab in the back clown and JJ who is the owner he’s got to be the biggest crook around next to his father who runs their sister company Apache oil… reputation in the Houston area is as piss poor as it comes Pasadena police DOT is always looking to nail their equipment.
