My tip won't help. You for what you want specifically but you can check out books for free using an app called Overdrive. It's free and you just search for your public library that you're a member of and put in your library card number. I'm with San Antonio public library and they have a pretty good selection. Sometimes have to wait for a title to become available but they email you when it's ready and you get to keep it for 21 days.

I think you would quickly get tired of the monotone digital voice but search google "sight impaired book reader" and there are options for blind people that essentially are what you are looking for. Otherwise, you're stuck with the limited selection of audio books (which are usually well voiced and produced if you can find one that interests you)

Windows platform has a text to speech program. Comes with the platform. So then you just need something that is windows installed.

Hello. If you have an android phone, you can do what I do, and use an app called Moon+ reader. it has a text to speech function. Works quite well.
Also, if you want a more realistic voice, Ivona can be downloaded from the play store, and the Kendra voice sounds pretty decent on most things.
