Called about a load on the board. Normally takes half hour to get set up and get rate con. After 30 minutes is when I call if I have not received it. So on Friday I called this guy back and he says he needs to check with his ACCOUNT MANAGER. Well I have heard that song before. My response is just checking because sometimes the BROKER does not have the load if he has to check with someone else and I have not received confirmation in a short time, after I tell him this he says no , no you got the load. I reply well sometimes THE BROKER DOES Not have the load. No I will send the confirmation to you . That was on Friday. Monday morning the same load comes up I call and talk to the same guy. We go thru the same thing. I am assuming all his life’s experience in ONE DAY AT A TIME because he is talking to me as if he has never talked to me before. I mentioned that I had spoken to him on Friday. He says he talked to a lot of people. So I tell him I want the load. He has to call his Account Manager, ok fine. He called back less than a minute. Tells me there is no load. And apologize about the mixup and hopes I can recover. I will recover I have seen this before as when the broker doesn’t have the load I tell him it is quite funny as I ask him about on Friday. So he says he doesn’t know who I talked to on Friday as there is a lot of people working here, Now this is something I can believe , He has no idea that i had talked to him about this load. I am glad this doesn’t happen often. Anyone have similar experience?

Unprofessional clowns. They hire some of these guys right off of car sales lots or cell phone stores and don't know diddly.

I’ve had two TONU’s issued to me this week because of broker or shipper incompetence. Only ever had 1 before this week.

Talking to brokers sometimes feels like talking to a drunk toddler.

Calling in for an SUV going from LI to Delaware. Tell him I can pick up Thursday thru Sunday and deliver Monday. Asks if I can pickup Monday but if the SUV is not delivered by Sunday it goes to VA and not Delaware. Ok... where in VA? He doesn't know.:mad::mad:

I thought I was having a stroke speaking to this guy.

After the stories I've read, they should be alcohol and drug tested hourly.

Sounds like the guy you were talking with is new to the industry and is overwhelmed. He might not be cut out for this line of work?

I’ve noticed some of the larger brokerages have actually set up offices in colleges for people looking to get a degree in the transportation industry. I’ve called on a few loads from some of them and have actually had good experiences with them. The companies teaching them seem to be doing a pretty good job.
