How much is enough cause I want more then just makeing enough i want to thrive I want to make sure my family thrive I want to work harder while I'm younger why should I only work 70 hours when I'm able to work more then that.
Why should anyone be able to say you work hard enough you MUST take a break now

    Wow! You're kidding right?
It's foolish attitudes like what you stated that brings about ELD's and restrictions! You will end up in a horrible situation someday with that attitude!

Yeah, it's ELDs. It's not the companies who have OUTRIGHT REFUSED to increase pay to a livable wage for 60-70 hours of work. Hahahaha does the grease paint ever get in your eyes while you're driving? That red nose can't be easy to see around as it is.

Like I said in my original post, if you're not making enough for your needs in the time allotted by law your doing something wrong.

No I make enough for my livelihood but why can you say if someone makes enough they shouldn't be aloud to make more? And why would you get mad at me if I want to work 12 hour day 7 days a week for a month or 2 and that equal me living to work there still another 12 hours in the day I don't sleep a full 8 hours either

So don't work for those companies. Simple!

You’re free to work all the hours you want. Just can’t legally drive after 70

I spent 15 years in the oilfield before I started driving a truck. I'm barely warmed up after 70 hours. Keep the 14/11 for safety, and dump the rest. I understand the 70 is there in part to keep companies from running rough-shod over their drivers, but you have the option to grow a spine, or do what the man tells you. Keep in mind I'm heavily biased, and have no experience running as a company driver, but that's my opinion on the matter. There really is no "one size fits all" here, I don't think.

But I do hate the current rules. Especially the 30 minute break.

The 30 minute break likely won’t go anywhere since it was OOIDA and all the drivers that submitted comments that got it implemented in the first place.

You know I get really tired of people using that BS reason about being a broke joke if you want to run more hrs that what the gobberment set... thats the biggest crook of crap I ever have heard.. why should my hands be tied by gobberment restrictions ? If I have a job to do or feel I can serve my customers needs better.. than thats my choice to make.. there's people that can function well and work 100+ hrs a week.. evidently your not 1 of them
People look & sound stupid when they try to drag financial reasoning into a debate like this
But thank you for your insight Bill Gates now saddle up your unicorn and go spread more of your pixe dust
