Congratulations! Isn't it a good feeling to know that you are going to be paid for all of your time? Enjoy that week off to get acclimated to what your house looks like again. It looks like you are going to be seeing a lot more of it. Just think, no more sitting and waiting for free! It also looks like you will receive the proper benefits as well.

To everyone that thinks otr is in his blood, he just hooked up to a dialysis machine. That (in the blood) concept has been fixed. While driving a truck might be in the blood, working for next to nothing and the sacrifices that are made to make little money, are the thing of the past.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I told you you'd make it back. Now do the best job you can and keep your eyes open for the majors so you'll really make the big bucks. And to those drivers that think hauling gasoline doesn't pay I made $1650 in 5 days every week no matter what. 12 hours and I was home to be with my son. So don't run the man down for making a smart move.

I'm not running the man down but I am glad to see another guy that doesn't belong out here gone! Surprising as it may be to you guys, Some of us out here are quite successful and love what we do.
I personally would never be remotely interested in hauling gas or any local work for that matter. I tried LTL freight and wasn't happy at all with the pay cut! If I can't put $1600 to $1800 a week in the bank I'm not interested!

That being said...I would never even consider working for one of the steering wheel holder companies like he was working for because you don't have any earning potential.

If you're gonna do this for a living, You'd better be a sharp businessman and not sell yourself for peanuts. It can be done if you dig around and find a niche that works for you and your buisness...

I love the thought that I "don't belong out there" because I want a better life for myself... After doing it for over 10 years "out there". It's not that I don't belong out there. It's that I don't want to be out there anymore.
    :jerk:
I must be an exception because I did quite well for myself with FFE. All bills caught up after not working for 9 months, money in the bank so I could fly home instead of take the bus.

For that matter who says you belong out there? Who are you to decide who is worthy for your road status? The man has 10 years OTR. Just because he wants to do something else doesn't mean he doesn't belong out there.
