We (me) unloaded them with a 10k pound skid steer. I believe they were loaded the same way. Occasionally some of the pallets were 5000-5500 pounds. That’s real fun trying pickup with a skid steer.

Gets a little light in the back, does it? ;)

I'd imagine it's even worse trying to pick them from up in the trailer if you can't drive in it.

Yeah we would drag them to the back and have the big loader drive up the dock and pick them up. It was a dumb experiment that only lasted a few loads. Besides the Too heavy pallets, the pallets kept collapsing. We rarely had that issue when loaded on a flatbed.

    I've read this whole thread.

Did I miss the disclosure of the evil shipper?

Most of the time 1 in the nose then doubled works, especially for the communist state.

    Sometimes 1-2-1.

ISO standard tries to keep everything at 1 ton a pallet.

This can of worms came out of a shipping container, when it was stuffed inside the shipping container the total combination of container, cargo and tractor was 87,000 lbs, putting it on the flatbed meant it "only" had a gross of 84,000. Pallets upon pallets of rolls upon rolls of plastic sheeting for building houses.

If you're ever feeling ambitious, watch a shipper stuff 1,800 bags of popcorn into a 20' shipping container
