If you live close enough to one of their terminals, Watkins Shepard is a good starter company. After their 10 day orientation, you get into your own truck, no trainer. But, it is a highly intensive, focused 10 days and not for everyone. You need to be confident of your skills to be able to go out on your own...

every company is bad but some have to be good in order to keep some of the drivers they have. most of it is all about getting a dispatch. any company can turn bad for the person... CPM is not inportant look for yearly Average.... a company can pay u .50 cpm and u only get 1500 miles thats nothing. so make sure ur checking your facts before chosing a company.. look at benfits too.

Kind of a deadend statement unless you've personally spoke with every driver from both companies.

I've some with a lot from both, nobody at werner is happy that's why there employment to quit ratio is led then 180 days for 92% of new hires. And I've talked to only a few ppl from cr englanbut at least they made some money, .18/mile is what they start new drivers at werner

Where do you folks get your info on Prime as being among the worst? If you've really read ninety percent as you've said, you'd have read lots of positive on Prime. Lots of miles, great pay, great equipment. I do not drive yet, but I have been researching starter companies and Prime deserves a closer look. The negative postings on Prime are mostly due to lease operators with NO business sense getting "hooked" into something that just buries them alive. Look deeper.

I have to agree, he's pretty spot on with the first two but the tie for third is off the mark. I would have went with Werner as #3 and To Catch a Predator(Covenant) Transport would have received honorable mention.
