I've heard Western Express can be pretty awful.

Oh yeah, I forgot...got a preHire from Western Express as well. It's just that I have read soooo much negative on them, I suppose I conveinently forgot them! (Only reason I applied is they have a terminal 30 miles from me.)

When it comes to the worst companies, you as a newby won't find any company better then the next otherwise they would'nt have such a high turn over rate.Best advice I can give a newby is suck it up untill you get 1 yr under your belt then move on to better companies. There is more starter companies then not that suck.Don't think there is one good starter company is there?

Yeah, I think I've narrowed my choices to Schneider, Roehl or EPES.

I've found that getting on a dedicated account makes income and home time both more consistent in a big company. I drove OTR for USX years ago and hated it. I've spent the last 6 years on the Dollar General account for the same company and it's a whole different world. My income doubled and so did my home time. I'm looking at other companies now because I want to pull flatbeds but I'd recommend USX for a new driver that doesn't mind hard work. If you want no touch freight, you'll find it hard to make a good living anywhere that will take you fresh out of school.

What do you see as the major advantage/selling point for a newbie to go with Swift?
