If your a hard runner and don't mind eating out of a cooler instead of spending time at truck stops you can make a good living at it. My goal every week is to net over 1000, and I usually make it. If you run at a more casual pace you might gross 800-900 a week. The way I see it, when I'm not at home I'm on a mission to make as much money as possible so I can enjoy the time with my family on my day off.

Thats an easy one, go with the freight company. Epes would have the best home time/pay ratio of any of your other options.

    Nottoway Thanks this.

I got my CDL through Schneider 18 years ago. Didn't cost a thing if you worked for them for one year. I guess they don't do that anymore.

A friend of mine worked for TransAm and has no bad words at all. He says it's a very good company to drive for. The only reason he left the company, is he found a company, home every night, which is what his wife wants. He said he wishes he could have stayed, but he was between a rock and a hard place, as the saying goes.

Prime example of a someone trying to set "Newbies" up with a bad attitude. I stand by my advice, give respect, earn respect. Grind out the first year with that "Positive" attitude. Why, because even if you hate who you work for, you as a person were a success. Don't let the "Bad" company make you a bad driver or a negative person. Do your year and leave that "bad" company knowing you gave them your best and are a better driver/person for it. For every negative post by a driver about a company, there are 4-5 drivers that love working there that never posted, because they have no need to complain.

It take more muscles to frown than to smile
