Probably getting annoyed at my questions. But reading the manual can't seem to find answer. Does the tablet do speech recognition for address instead of typing? Ie say 1600 Pennsylvania av Washington DC and it searches for that address?

okay after another day of play, a few more things
1. EVERY time I hit "add as via" the "reorder trip" option comes up, this is terrible, I've already run through 6 taps, I dont need a popup on the 6th making me hit it the unit yet AGAIN, if I want to reorder the trip, I will, but there are already plenty of easy ways to get to that without making me go for a 7th tap (map button->choose destination->poi->along route->ts/rest area->add as via->"yes ### I want to add as most recent via not reorder my NOW 2 stop trip" (pardon my rage)
2. there is no "bleed through" BUT on the right of the screen, when it is on if you look down the length of it, you can see the connections to the lcd screen, it's cosmetic, and obviously doesnt matter from a functionality standpoint, but it LOOKS like bleed through when tablet screen is on if you dont look closely
3a. Bluetooth connection is nice, does what it's supposed to (connected to my truck's headunit) it does well so far, pairing is easy, it "blips" when playing music and the unit gives a notification, as your phone does
3b. you can set music to play via bluetooth on your soundsystem and go down the road with the gps rolling AS LONG AS you want the gps turn by turn, click etc to come through the music (in fairness this is actually a good thing if you rely on the audio cues the gps gives, as it will be as loud as your music is, BUT...
3c. the problem is that if you are like ME, and really hate gps sound, and therefore mute the GPS, this controls ALL the noise coming from the gps, via bluetooth, via its speaker, PERIOD, this is actually a flaw in the way rand has set up the audio controls, which is a holdover from the way the old gps was set up, ie thats all it was, if you go to a lot of your better game apps, you can turn off music/sound effects so you could for instance play pandora while playing your game and only hear pandora... the rand mcnally app has it set up the quick and dirty way i.e. just control device volume with their in app mute/volume slider
4. stupid question I know the answer to, but feel the need to raise so that it's out there, the unit has a power port, so does the mag mount, does running both charge it any faster?
a. NO
b. mark is going to tell me dont do that, it's a risk to overcharging the battery, wheeeeeee fire on the dash ( yes i tested this and no it doesnt overheat OR charge faster but it's not adviseable anyway as it was not designed to do this)
5. onboard speaker is pretty weak on it's own, okay to watch a short clip of a video here or there but hard to hear notifications/turn by turn on gps over the road noise in the truck, I will grant that my truck is LOUD (80 dB going down the road cut me some slack, it's old enough to drink ['94]) yes I know I need to do sound mitigation, beleive me, its on my to-do list, my sound system will sound much better for it not to mention the hearing loss I am certainly suffering)
6. EVERY time i boot the truck gps app from scratch, the volume setting is reset to on again, it's in how it handles the audio, boy is that annoying
7. device now lasts (on truck gps) with no power piped in for about 3.75 hours (max brightness on daytime mode) I didnt demand much of it, not a ton of turns or dense road clusters, but thats not terrible, I haven't gotten to seeing how long the tablet side lasts without the truck app eating the battery via gps, it DOES seem that battery "lasts" till it hits about 20 %, then the battery gets sucked dry VERY rapidly, same on the charge, it takes forever for the first 20-30%, but after that, it charges pretty fast, numbers later when i move my chicken scratch into digital form, might be another day or so before i do that -
though you can (for these apps) disable and shut down notifications and remove them from being available to put them on your home or other screens
Browser
profit gauges
*rand mcnally gps voices (if you disable this, truck gps will crash on startup)
rand mcnally market
transflo mobile+

the following CANNOT be disabled at all
rand mcnally launcher
RM services
tripmaker
dash cam
(and a bunch of other obvious android required programs)
ummmmmm and now for the scary thing mark,
you CAN uninstall the truck gps as of right now, I would say this is a pretty important thing to fix, you know what people are like when they start getting rid of things
ABSOLUTELY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE DO NOT UNINSTALL THE TRUCK GPS, if you do this you are a bloody moron and you need to stay away from technologyLast edited: Feb 11, 2015

To add multiple locations, go to Destinations/current trip folder/click on current trip and build your trip from there.
