With the exception of ZTE Blade S6 running android 5.0 sold via amazon starting Feb 10th... seems most are sticking with android 4.4 for now.. Rand is sort of reminding me of apple.. iPhone 6 was released a short time ago and iPhone 7 is right around the corner.. With Samsung now working with apple on iPhone 7Waiting for more on all..

Not sure how it qualifies as a dash cam. It's a tablet and like any other tablet it has a built in camera. It also has rand software installed. So basically it's a tablet with selected apps installed. In order for it to be a dash cam though you have to have this 8"tablet in the correct position for the tablet's built in cam to see what you want it to see. In some states attaching anything to your windshield is not legal and something that big has no place taking up windshield real estate IMO.

One thing trying to be all things never works too well.

I'll stick with a gps stuck to the front of my dash and a separate cam that can be placed in a way that it doesn't obstruct my vision.

Facing at an angle to the driver the dash cam picks up a lot. If I am in the right lane it sees what is in front of very well as part of the left lane and I probably have it more of an angle than in a truck.

Sticky disks are available if you look on the link and scroll to the bottom. It does not take up much more that the 7". Running in my Jeep center dash I am still able to see all to the right front and my hood is much shorter than a truck.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Many third party brackets that will fit the tablet that will attach to the dash. A sticky disk is available.

The slice will amplify the GPS signal along with allowing a rear facing cam to be plugged in.

It has a dash cam, it does record what is in front of you.

Common sense dictates where you place it. If you place it in front of your face then yes it would draw attention. If you place in the spilt towards the bottom it will probably not have an issue.

Your total statement is the dash cam and the placement.

It does have a dash cam that qualifies as a dash cam.

Yes, it 'qualifies' as a dash cam though personally I can't imagine it being a good choice at all for that.

Of course not all dash's are the same. With mine I can't imagine a location where I would be able to make use of the gps, have it adjusted for the camera to pointed the right way and at the same time not obstuct my view more than I would like.

Nonetheless, a tablet and gps in one isn't a bad idea. For the price though one can buy a good tablet and truck specific gps app and be better off.

I'm sure some will think it the best thing since sliced bread but I'll be surprised if this product ends up being a long term offering.

During a random inspection the officer was kind enough to mention my 7 inch GPS could not sit on the dash. I promptly moved it within arms reach to the top of the windshield, just this side of where some secure the little blue prepass box. On randoms after that it hasn't been mentioned.. I have heard but have yet to look it up that anything above 6 inches cannot be placed on the dash as it may obstruct ones view..

The thing is I had no problem with the view while it was mounted closer to the dash
