TMC may have a good company, but if there recruiting and training reflect how these guys treat you once you are on the road you had better be ready to bend every rule of the road to get your job done.Orientation consisted of an individual humiliating every person that wore a hat inside the room,or late to meetings, and every sentence ending in you will follow these rules or you will be asked to leave do you understand me ,and thats a quote. Oh and by the way do not walk on the grass or you will be asked to leave.I arrived at the hotel at 10:32 pm saturday night and was greeted by rudeness from the clerk which was not what someone needs after 11 hours of driving. i go to my room walk in and there is another person in there, which i knew i would probably have roomate no big deal.i went down told the receptionist that someone was in the room and it would have been nice to have been told so i would have knocked before i went in,the other tmc employees standing there started with the smart remarks immediately about what was he doing in there basically crude remarks ,right in front of two young girls that were with a wedding in the hotel going on that night, and believe me what i heard them saying to those young girls was not the behavior that i was asked to display there in front of public guests. The respect they demand of their students is not the respect you will get from employees of tmc.We are all adults here, and this behavior that i witnessed, including the rudeness from the recruiters is not needed by anyone, and not what i expected from a company i heard so many good things about.

WOW, sorry to hear that. Well, I think TMC focuses MORE on their trucks than on their drivers...that has ALWAYS been my opinion of them anyway. Let me guess, they really hounded recruits on their trucks a lot?

Women wont be hired by TMc,unless they are teaming up with hubbys, that is first hand knowledge.I was in school with a girl who applied there and was turned down immediately with the only reason given is they dont like hiring females. They called back two days later and told her yes,but she was so turned off by their attitudes that she told them no

From what I read on truck driving forums theres seems to be alot of rudeness and lack of respect for drivers among schools, especially company sponsored schools. I'm going to go into this like it's the military and just do what I'm told by the instructor and remember I probably won't ever seem them again after I graduate.

    Hmm...

Perhaps I'll get into the grill of one of the instructors when they call it a "hat" rather than a "COVER" then?

    :mcool:

No biggie. Dont take it personally. I'll do what they ask, leave their grass alone, and learn my trade when I get there this weekend. Two weeks is nothing. I've done 12 weeks on Parris Island, 20 weeks on Okinawa, etc, etc, etc, ........

Learn to drive their trucks, learn how to secure loads, learn how to tarp...... Other than that, I'm not interested in their drama and will ignore it if confronted with it. And honestly, how often do you have to deal with other TMC drivers who treat you like crap on the road?

I'll ignore them too. The only things that exist are the truck I'm driving, the load I'm delivering, my radio, my family, my stack of CD's, and my paycheck. Ignore the "super truckers" if they turn into sphincters.
