Thanks DFO. Yes I'm going to ask for the ecm report today. I have narrowed it down further to the T700. I really want a diesel apu for sure the more I thought about it as well as doing a little research. Oh I don't have it on my profile, but I live in Tennessee, so hopefully Nashville and Memphis are good to me for freight. I live kinda in between the two.

It can be put into "null mode" where it does nothing for cab temperature control (no fan, no heat, no cooling) but it simply monitors battery voltage and will start the APU engine when the batteries drop below a certain voltage. I leave it on this mode when I am at home for a day or so, that way my fridge stays on and cold, I can leave my GPS, etc., hooked up and left on, and all my settings and presets are saved on my radio. If I'm home for longer than that I just flip the night switch but then I gotta set my radio, clocks, etc., back up and of course can't leave anything in my fridge. Also if I assign a load while the Qualcomm has no power at all, it won't appear on the device when I start it back up, so I have to call in to have it resent.

A better solution would just be to install a battery tender and plug it into the wall when I'm at home, been saying I'd do that for a while but just haven't gotten around to it yet, lol.

No, unfortunately it does not. This is the ONE thing that I like about the electric APUs, is that they do have a shore power plugin that can run the unit indefinitely if you have a 120v plugin, and I'm assuming it has a built-in charger that will maintain the tractor batteries as well as the APU batteries.

The diesel APU has a AC compressor and a 60 amp alternator, but nothing to make use of 120v power.

Well I got shot down. The T700 requires a 2k down payment which I have, but wanted to hang on to it for startup expenses. I'm now limited to the cascadia's or a couple of older trucks that have 500k plus on them. Oh well back to the drawing board lol

Take a closer look at the Cascadias they have some nice ones that aren't just basic fleet spec trucks. Mine has a Cummins ISX and a 13spd and a diesel APU. Nice gauge package, nice interior package, and its much better built than any company truck I drove. It has double the miles my company Cascadia had but none of the rattly cabinets or just in general poorly put-together feel that the fleet spec truck had.

See about upgrading the alternator. They have 120 amp alternator available.

Yeah I was trying to find one in there, but they all had the dd15 and that dang tripac e and 10 speed. From what I could see in the pictures, it looked to have a nice gauge package and the fake wood grain dash lol. It was a 2013 model.
