If you want to run longer distance runs then head west. It's way less stressful out there as well.

Seems a lot tougher to keep moving than the east coast. Talked with Sadwar a few days ago and seems he noticed the same thing as well. I need to learn some tips and tricks from you long time west-coast IC's.... teach me!!

I know from my limited time running out there the main freight lanes are I-5 and I-15. SoCal to Utah and back. I5 up to Oregon and Washington and back. Some freight running from Portland down i84 toward Utah. I80 as well from Utah to NorCal. You'd probably get just as much help from western 11 drivers. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to check out freight all around the country the next couple days if you are sitting there waiting for that load.

New Braunfels is a dead area for me. I try to stay around the Dallas area, it's more freight there. Just a heads up for the future.

Talked to a 6 yr IC on Choice yesterday while doing my live unload. We happened to talk about Laredo and he said one thing he had noticed is this: make sure when you do your search on the load board you set your begin date search back at least a month. He said the trailers come across the border and sit there until they are assigned an appt BUT the dates aren't adjusted in the CPU. Normally when you do a search the begin date is set for a week previously. He said this works for him every time. He goes through Laredo a lot because he lives in New Mexico and gets freight from Laredo headed out west. Might be worth trying?

What I noticed is Southern Cal has a lot of good paying freight. Loads going north pay excellent! But kicks your butt to come straight back down and grab another. So ... I zigzag my way back on the highest paying loads I can find. Found decent ways to do it by studying load board. Other option is basically run coast to coast.. Sometimes there are really good paying loads going to Cali and coming from Cali.. However it is a bit more of a crap shot than just running the east.. In a perfect world i would set up my return load before I leave Cali but you know how that is .. Booking loads a week out isn't always that easy. Especially long loads that pay well usually are not on the board that far in advance.

    sadwar Thanks this.

Any pictures of the interior? I'd LOVE to see the inside. I'm only on page 10 and it shows there are 110 pages so if you've posted them and I just haven't got to them yet - sorry.

There is alot coming out of Laredo. Canned goods, scrap metal, and Autoparts. The hard part is the 45-hour long waits to even get into the yard. I have been down there 4 times and have never been able to get a trailer out of there without drama. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING GOING TO NICHOLS ALLUMINUM in Davenport, unless they pay in gold doubloon!! I got there and there were 14 trucks lined up waiting to go in and they were snotty as hell. They ended kicking me out and Schneider had me relay it in Cedar Rapids. The OC there isn't bad. They have never had any towels there for the showers. I guess guys steal them all.
