Have to go up front and ask for towels. I spent maybe a hour at Nichols, was there at 10am. No trucks, just don't drive past the open gate the security guard make u back up.

Wow, complete opposite my experience LOL! There were trucks lined up on sides of the road and on the road going back to the hwy. It was on a monday so maybe that was an issue?

So a couple questions. It's April 1st means new quarter. Are you doing your taxes quarterly or how will u do your taxes? Also did Schneider help you get your EIN? What about your plates and fuel usage tax did they take that out on your first check?

man, it was a good trip.....got to see northern AZ (Grand canyon area), SLC (beautiful), Montana yesterday, and tonight I'm at the nicest truckstop I've ever been to, Bosselmans in Grand Island NE (movies theaters, chiropractor, massage, dirty books, huge paved concrete lot, and this summer will have a Quaker State restaurant (right now they have Little Ceasar, Subway, and a sorta iron Skillet kinda place).

    Fresh burritos too!!!

You have to apply and get your EIN before you get a truck
You should pay taxes quarterly, but it's up to you
Plates and other assorted taxes and permits are paid weekly
Fuel use is yearly (you have to build up $1000 in an escrow @ $50 a week till you have it)
Also, IFTA taxes are monthly.....if you didn't buy enough fuel where you ran......mine ranges btw $25 and $75 a month

    Grijon Thanks this.

Cool. I love the scenery in that part of the country too. Just hard to get consistent good paying loads there!

Finished up in Green Bay last Thursday and booked a load out of Saint Cloud to NC and then to North East PA... I'm a new IC so I'm still trying to get the hang of things but the first lesson I've learned is NEVER book a load to North East PA. Really enjoy the thread DFO.

    Lonesome and Drifter42 Thank this.

just gotta hop out......find something short to a good market. Bring up 2, 3, or 4 'sessions' of the load board (just keep going back to the main page and click on 'shipments' tab), so you can compare loads. Lots of good freight in PA, just no good roads.....LOL!!!!

    Drifter42, scythe08 and KWSilver01 Thank this.
