Finally got up to PA, made my delivery and then bobtailed over to the OC because the customer didn't have any empties. I lucked out and grabbed a new trailer (it might be BRAND NEW) that just got processed in and can actually go out the gate, lol. Anyway, will be here in Carlisle until Monday afternoon when I head back for NC. Then I'll be back up in Carlisle again on Wednesday, LOL.

You must be running those kc loads to mechanicsburg. Im trying to stay out of PA this summer. I been running midwest and south and having good luck. Im heading down to Kathleen, ga pick up same place and head to Nashville. I ran from Kathleen to Nashville last year, this time the rate went up $50. I been seeing rates going up just a little. My truck dont like hills, so im going to hang around the south and midwest this summer. I picked a load up from Batesville, Ar to Pendleton, IN paid $1316 2600lbs, that put me right back into a good frieght area. Deadheaded to Plainfield, In to pick up a load headed to Kathleen, ga $1100 4,000lbs. Turning out to be a good week for me.

Was the load to Pendleton by any chance to the Tractor Supply warehouse? I only ask because I grew up in Pendleton and that's the only place I can think of off-hand that would be receiving freight.

One thing you will soon realize is there are places everywhere that send/recieve freight you never would even know exist. Even in your home town.

Great thread DFO and all who have participated! I pulled for the Big Orange back in 2006-07 on the P&G Dedicated account out of Augusta, GA. Got disillusioned by, and along with some of my fellow P&G drivers when the account dried up and eventually got disbanded. Had an option to pull Target Dedicated out of Midway, GA but needed to leave the tractor in Midway and drive your personal car to and from or pull System. Quit and pulled for Crete Carriers for several months, really knew what misery felt like and left the road after that.

Stumbled across your thread after doing some research about getting back into the game as an IC. Looking forward to following this thread and hopefully joining the team.

Well I was going to share a pic of my dinner tonight. Delivering at a grocery store in the AM. Threw a steak with red potatoes and onions in my lunchbox oven. My mouth is watering so bad. It needs to finish quicker.

Yeah I have been noticing how many random tiny little towns have shipping/receiving locations.
