It's cool, thinks are calming down. We are just having a discussion and discussions have high and low emotional points. We just crested and are coming back down.

I agree with DFO ..
Lets to chill down and be rash . We had our disagreements and no harm in that . It's when it goes to almost blows and people getting called out etc .. When it gets out of hand ..
deep breath ..

Thank you to all you choice drivers, Im learning everyday so its all good. I enjoy all of your threads. And from an outsider lookin in it seems to me that sni has the best l/o program out there, Now JCT's sounds pretty good. BUT they dont get to pick their own loads and take off when they want. I know you all run hard, so thank you for taking time to let us ride along and learn how to do it right. BE SAFE !!
TennMan and mickimause Thank this. -

Wrong thread buddy. Hope I don't get banned for commenting on your post. But even as line haul lease or owner op you still have a choice. You don't have to accept the load your getting dispatched on, you can still go home when you want for a long as you want. Also some of those drivers do just as well as a choice driver and have fewer headaches.

For anyone who thinks SFI is overpriced, here are some numbers for you.
Price of my 2014 Cascadia Evolution:
From SFI: $148,000.00
From Freightliner direct, with same exact options mine has: $146,512.42
Truck Payment:
SFI on a 3 year lease: $736.55 per week, or $2,946.20 per month, $66,000 balloon payment, final price of $180,901.80
Monthly payment on a 5 year business loan from Chase Bank on the balance owed (with no existing business credit): $2,872.14, no balloon payment, final price of $172,328.40
The costs of the truck between the lease and a direct loan are so close to each other as to be negligible. I like leasing better, because I can have the option of getting a new truck with improved technology every 3 years. And since the newer trucks really don't have the service life that older ones do, I wouldn't buy one outright anyway, it would be just about done for by the time I paid it off.
Some lease purchase deals are complete rip offs. I really don't think the one through SFI is, at least not to any amount that matters.
This is really the only lease purchase program that I know of that I'd recommend to anyone. There are probably other good ones like it, but this one isn't bad at all.
Personally, I would never enter a lease deal in which I had a dispatcher sending me loads. Even though you technically have the "right" to turn down a load, I've heard too many stories about dispatchers that get pissed off about it and make you sit a day or two waiting on another load.
I know that not all companies and dispatchers have that problem, but if I'm going to be paying more per week than many people make, I'm not going to give control to some desk jockey in an office somewhere who has never driven a truck. To me, that's like starting a business with everything you have and then turning it over to some guy you hired off the street and hoping that he doesn't screw it up. I don't have that kind of trust in people.
Just my two cents worth.PitchforkedPineapple, Hegemeister, Night Prowler and 2 others Thank this.
