hey I have been following this thread for a few and I got a question, how much work they have in the northeast on the board im really leaning towards leasing one or 2 trucks with them early next year, also is theres anyway that I can play with the loadboard a little bit??

Always loads going up into the northeast, I don't run up there so I can't say how busy it will keep you once you get up there, but I know that as a company driver they could always keep me moving (well, running circles) up in that area. It can be tough to get a decent paying load out of there, though.

I don't know of any way you can play with the load board unless you are already an IC.

Dfo, I've read the two threads from the time you started and I'm just now "up to date" in your travels and tribulations. You've come a long way. Your fine writing skills are easy on the brain so as to understand clearly what is happening. I almost feel like I know you.

Thank you and the rest of the drivers on these two threads for being so forthcoming with information both technical and the day-to-day ups and downs. I will use this information in the near future and, again, thank you kindly.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, DFO, and to you all.

DFO, does the loadboard work correctly on ipad/iphone? Did you try it? Though crossroads doesn't work...

I don't have any Apple products to try it on, but I do know it will work on Android devices. However, you really need a laptop, even a tablet is going to be a pain in the butt to use to search for loads. Its just my preference, but I can navigate the load board extremely fast on a computer with a keyboard and a mouse, and enter lots of information to narrow down exactly the loads that I'm looking for and have multiple tabs open to "plan ahead" and make sure that my loads will keep me moving after I deliver them.

Often times, I will copy and paste the load shipment numbers "STblahblahblah" off the load board and put them in a text file with a little about where the load is going to and from so I can reference them later if I decide not to book them at the time. The efficiency that you can do this with on a laptop you can't even compare to on a phone or tablet. You don't need an expensive laptop either, the other SNI driver I did IC training with up in GB was real smart and got a Chromebook from Best Buy up there. Not expensive at all, and really good battery life, the perfect kind of computer to use for load board searching, I'm still considering getting one myself to use just for those purposes.

There was a guy up in Green Bay when we were booking our first loads that was swearing up and down his iPad could do everything a laptop could. I had my first load found and booked before he was even able to log in and set the parameters to start looking for a load.

Crossroads works on my Android phone, sort of.
