All leases will get you for stuff like that one way or the other. Either it's built into the payment or you pay it at the end, or some you pay a per mile rate into a maintenance account. They aren't gonna let you wear out a truck and then turn it in with no financial means to get it back into decent shape for the next guy. That's just the way it is with leases.

If you wanna be able to leave at a moments notice and not have any fees there to bite you in the butt, buy your own truck... just remember to turn that Qualcomm back in or they'll get you for that too.

I was in a lease 5 yrs ago, .09 per mile on maint/refunded what was not used, but they took out for tire ware, and any other thing to get it back like it was. If it had scratches, dings, interior dirty, whatever, they charged gor that. They also charged somewhere arnd .03-.05 per mile depreciation on trk, which was not refundable and addition to their trk pymt. Looks like to me sni has as fair a lease as anyone, and much better than a lot. The difference being if someone wants to work and knows what they are doing, or even willing to listen to others on here and then learn, you can make much more money with sfi. I hav applied with them already, Im still in the decision part of their trk or buying one, thinking about going the same route dfo went, 1 yr lease, and if I like it, buy a older used truck. Again, thx for all the help you give on here.

SFI (Schneider finance) is the leasing company owned by SNI (Schneider... the trucking company)

well, me being a new guy on here and my first on these forums, I guess I need to learn all the lingo stuff. When I say sfi, its the same as sni, guess I should clairify it. The choice is better if you know what you are doing, or will learn from the guys on here. Percentage usually always pays better than per mile. And, on choice you pick the loads, where u go, and your pay. If you are on per mile, they dispatch you and are in control. I hav looked at Darts lease real hard, but just as with everyone else, they can promise you all kinds of miles, but that does not mean they will. When you run on per mile deals, and hav the big truck pymts, and all of a sudden ther start giving you 1500 miles or so, which it does happen, then you are pretty much working for free. Just my opinion, and my experience from per mile leases.

OK, before I get blasted on the per mile deal, im sure there are some that make good money on per mile, but they are the exception. Kinda like people talking about 70-80% of people failing at leases, which I don't know the actual #, but a lot get into it without knowing what they are doing, and what to expect. But at the same time people talk about how many lease failures there is, they seem to forget how many people come into trucking as company drivers and fail.
