- Never heard of anyone not getting their sign on bonus - sounds like you need to talk with someone instead of whining about it on the forum.
- Dealing with the office folks isn't the easiest, especially on the phone. They are understaffed IMO and it is one of my frustrations with Schneider. I've made sure to have a good relationship with my ICA/ICRs and communicate with them through email as much as possible. They are usually very quick to respond to emails. But I understand where you are coming from here.
- No, they really don't care about the size of your family. You are either an employee or a contractor and you are there to do your job. They are a huge company. If you want a little more "personal" relationship with the people you work with work for a small company. That should be pretty obvious.
- Sounds like you should go work for Wal-Mart - but with that attitude you'd probably end up in customer service answering phone calls instead of driving a truck for them
THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE - DFO gets a truck and hops on Schneider's IC Choice Program

That might be the son of the crazy cat lady stalker from way back lol
dieselfuelonly and popcorn169 Thank this. -
I hope it keeps kicking just like that

Didn't he say he has "8-12 people to support". Huh? LOL You know the old adage that truckers need to keep their doors shut in order to make money? Apparently in this guys case he needs to lay off the advances and keep his pants on around the old lady.ew2108, skyviper73 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Maybe he is from Kentucky ? (and yes I went there)

I don't understand how people choose to go with the legacy program. .92/mile plus surcharge? Had a load with a bad appointment, had to drop it as a relay, with fuel surcharge it comes out to $1.25/mile on the extra miles.
-
Well they do get paid all miles. And extra stuff.

Even tho I work for a different company (and a different pay rate) I agree with Moosc. There is some advantages to being on a Dispatch system vs a %. This last trip had me pick up in Salt Lake City, UT. going to Edmonton, AB (Canada) they had no loads coming out at this time so they deadheaded me from Edmonton, AB. to Idaho Falls, ID. Could not find a load for me home from there so they again deadheaded me from Idaho Falls, ID. to Boise, ID for xmus. Total miles deadhead is 1050 and total miles on the trip were 2114, All miles were paid loaded. Does this happen often ? No! but sure is nice when it does.
Both systems has there ups and there downs, Some loads one may win and one may loose. I personally think a % system has move to offer over time then a dispatched system, but if you can get a dispatcher that will just let you choose loads there is not much of a difference. =)
