Apparently stuff just doesn't want to work today. Wake up this afternoon and go to crank up the truck and it just cranks, won't start. Of course I messed with that fuel plunger deal yesterday so I took that off thinking maybe it was screwed up and sucking air, and put the primer pump back on. Pumped the primer like 300 times and it never sucked fuel. Dunno if the primer is just completely worn out or what. So I just gave the truck a good crank and eventually the pump sucked fuel and fired. Went out and tried the primer again to see if it would suck fuel and it still felt dry. WTF? Removed it and put the plate back on, fired up again and off I went.

I'll have to see if it does it again tomorrow. I guess there's always the possibility of a completely unrelated pinhole in a line somewhere allowing some air in and the fuel to drain back to the tanks, but I really have my doubts. No issues till I replaced the primer yesterday. Starts fine after sitting for a bit now but the real test will be letting it sit overnight. I may wake up in the middle of the night and see if takes a little longer than usual to fire. Weird.

Taking my 30 now, figure I'd try the big inverter (it works when it wants to lol) and make some Easy Mac in the microwave. Inverter powers up fine, microwave powers up fine, but it's just not heating. Spins, makes noises, uses power, but not heating.

    Ok, plan B:

Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Oh wait, I forgot to buy a thing of plastic cutlery and of course left my old set sitting at home. So I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich... with my finger.

Time to continue on to VA for the delivery. What a night so far LOL.

Well the time has come to take the KW into the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE backing maneuver shipper. It was tough with the Cascadia. Will I be able to get the trailer in the hole?

Lucked out and got one of my gravy loads as soon as it popped up on the board. Not gonna let a long truck keep me from getting the load I want. OFF WE GO. Stay tuned for the update of whether or not I can fit or have to wimp out and drop it for the yard dog.

Was nice to meet you as well, sorry we didn't have more time to chat. I run through Charlotte at lot though, sure we'll get a chance in the future.

As for the ticking noise... not too sure about that. Was it from the cabinet behind the passenger seat? If you have the battery-pack APU thing, I want to say they put the blower motor in that cabinet, maybe the fan was running at a low speed and making the tick? Just a guess...

    ===

Managed to get my empty dropped (at 3 a.m. if no one is there to watch me do a few pull ups, what's to stop me from saying I had absolutely no trouble at all?) in that stupid little yard, then got out with the load. I was lucky there wasn't a trailer next to the loaded one, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get it out. No way to avoid running it through the spot next to it. It's funny how much of a difference wheelbase length makes when it comes to how the trailer maneuvers I guess that's why I've heard guys say they switched from sleepers to daycabs and it's a whole different world, lol.

Hopefully no more air leaking into the fuel system tonight and she'll fire right up tomorrow. We'll find out. It will have me completely stumped if it does it again. I should make a fuel cap with a valve stem in it and a bicycle pump to pressurize a fuel tank in a pinch to push the fuel up to the filter housing LOL.

Hopefully off to some slightly warmer weather in GA tomorrow. Not sure how far I'll go, got tons of time on this load and I think I'll take it easy.

Black box is bad or going bad. Before you leave call IT support. Let them reboot then they will set the work order. Unless you are cool with the shop. Annoying as heck. Ran paper for two days because of it. Ended up unplugging power to get it to stop. All these boxes are refurbs. Obetz shop told me the external speaker is up in the overhead there. IDK.

    Welcome back.

Good call, bet that's it! Mine did that and holy **** it was annoying... POP POP POP POP when the MCP woke up from sleep mode, of course always while I was in the middle of my 10. Definitely get that replaced because it is a giant pain in the **** and then eventually it will just pop pop pop and then black screen and die. Also took forever to boot up because it would try and fail a few times.

If it happens in the future, go to the settings and change the sound output from the external speaker to the built-in speaker, it isn't as loud and makes it a little more bearable to deal with until you can get the black box replaced.

Took the truck out for the road test today. Instructor indicated it was exactly what you both said it was. I'll address it either tomorrow or Friday, as I don't plan on trying to leave until Saturday. Friday is gonna be pack junk into the truck day anyway.

Thanks for the input, and for the welcome back!

Well something must have not sealed right the first time I put the plate on the filter housing. Today it spun over and cranked right up. Good! Was worried I would be chasing a mystery air leak and killing starters, lol.

On my 30 in SC right now. Not sure how far I'll go tonight. We'll see what GA has in store for me... was hoping for some Frito but at the moment it's not looking too good.
