My wife suffers with anxiety issues, has for a long time. She takes Lexipro and it seems to take care of it pretty well. Good luck to you. It took her a while to find the right meds. Finding good psychiatrist helps.

Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself - no one else will. Best wishes for the best possible outcome...just remember, that result might not be what you think it should be right now.
We miss you around here, so please don't be a stranger.91B20H8, rickybobby and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -
I struggle with anxiety as well DFO and sometimes it gets to the point where i have to pull over for a bit and just chill or sometimes I just try to fight it off. I take Klonopin which SNI allows, but I only get a one year med. card because of it. There are honestly days when I walk into a truckstop to maybe get something to eat and out of nowhere it hits and I just have to turn around and just walk out. I know a lot of what you are going through and it's not fun at all. The thing the pisses me off about it is that a lot people will just say[It's in your head, it's not real] I know from experience it is very real. The Klonopin helps alot, but I still have the attacks at least once or twice a week. Do what you have to do man. Take care of yourself first!!!!

Sorry to hear that @dieselfuelonly . I'm always tossing the idea around of selling my truck and doing something local like dispatching or load planning. OTR can be very stressful for most I would guess, unless your like a gypsy or something. Some days with the truck giving me problems and traffic and snobby/lazy shippers/receivers and HOS and parking and over zealous cops/DOT the anxiety can just build and build.
Just today in fact I was crunching the numbers in my head on letting my truck go, and canceling my lease. I was offered an office job and while there would be a pay cut I couldn't argue with the reduce stress and risk.
It's funny you mentioned coming over to Landstarve, but I'm always wondering if I could do better on the choice board. This weekend I did $1.45 TTT on all 1600 miles, ouch. Way ouch. But still better than I could do from an arm chair without a fancy shmancy college edumication.
Usually when I have a rough day like today I sleep on it. I wake up and tell myself it's a vitamin deficiency or something (I have a fear of prescription drugs), grab a monster rehab and hit the road. I don't eat right or workout and wonder why my heads not in the right place??......
I hope you turn it all around DFO. You'll have to excuse me. My POS portable AC keeps shutting off and blowing hot air. I'm about to murder a redneck APU setup.Grijon, skyviper73, mickimause and 2 others Thank this. -
We are all pulling for ya, DFO. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you a couple of months ago.
Looking forward to hearing your back at it. Hope ya stay on the forum.mickimause Thanks this. -
Citalopram might be the generic name for Celexa but not sure. I have not tried but 2 different medications and the other one made me grouchier and more grumpy than the other one. I had to get off of that one asap. My wife was about to take a bat to me.
I do hope that you find a medicine that works for you and will let you drive.
I went to Charlotte this past week and when I went to do the physical I told the nurse that I was taking Celexa and she knew exactly what it was for. -

On another note when I went thru the orientation process for SNI again this past week it was more informative than when I did it in April. The teacher that does it all the time was out for a few days in April and we had a sub. I learned some things this past week that I did not know.
Now that I am back I can't seem to book loads on the computer I have to call and have them force assigned to me. Nobody knows why this is. My ICA said that she had it taken care of Friday morning and when I got home Friday evening same thing. I called support shift and they could not do anything so here I sit not being able to book loads and waiting for my ICA to get back in the office tomorrow morning.
She forced a load that I ended up picking out onto me and one of the support shift people also forced one on me that I picked but I lost a few good loads because some glitch and it is frustrating to me. I hope it gets better. -

Best of luck, brother. The sad thing is that all the freakey stuff that goes off in your mind doesn't make you a physical cripple.......therefore, it must not be true. Actually, driving has cured most of that for me......but what do I know.
You'll be fine. Go get you some tail and it will change your perspective.......LOL!!!!!
take caredieselfuelonly Thanks this.
