    Good luck to you!!

I will say life on the road has been interesting. Hopefully you will get a good trainer and one who has a good DM.

Congratz on the new addition to the family! Sounds like school is going well..The guy with the sleeping thing sounds like a prob..I slept also but only when this student in our class drove..He was awful and watching him only made me worse..lol I'd just joke and say hey if you can wake me up...then you are Fing up..He drove better but it is very hard to wake me up also..Have a great x-mas and the granchild made a great gift.
Oh,watched that video of the pretrip guy..hope he wasn't serious..lol

Hah, Just when I was getting thoughts of rolling across the country with the Mrs., we have a new addition.

Reading these stories makes me cherish the few weeks my wife was by my side.

Ah well, I'm enjoying being a 1st time dad, and congrats on the Grand pappy status.

Not sure what your company's policy is - but she can still ride along occasionally (vacation for her - company for you) and after kids are away to college etc. you guys can 'semi' retire too :biggrin_25525:

Congrats on your first kid - actually raising a kid I think is one of the HARDEST jobs given to us, and there is no set directions on how to do it besides with a lot of love... enjoy!!

Yeah I don't think that's going to be for a while, he'll be six weeks tomorrow. (actually 10 hrs from now)

I might do more OTR stuff for my company in a year when the wife can deal with me not being around as much. But we just landed a contract (partly, BECAUSE of me and my familiarity with NYC) with a retail operation. Since NYC real-estate is so expensive they've removed 3/4 of the storage space at their new shops (and re-modeling the others) so they're going to get "kaizen" or "Just-in-time" inventory replenishment. We also cut two other trucking companies out of the loop too. (Werner was drop & hooking to Newark and a local outfit was running vans into town)

So it's a pretty big deal for us, and it falls all on my shoulders. So I think the company is confident I can keep the client happy.

(we also got a contract with another vendor for 100 trailer-loads after the new year, so our OTR fleet will be moving well too.)

I always tell the boss, "if you're making money, I'm making money!"
