Well almost to CO, then back to CA again... Last week we got out of there early... About 18hrs early!! It was really nice, because then we got home early and had more time there :)

So this lane is giving us 4970 miles per week... With NO dead head!! Yeah... Liking it!! Not sure how things will work out over Christmas and New Year though... Time will tell ... LOL! We are getting to know the people at the different stops, and they are getting to know us. That is nice as well... So we are continuing on, and the truck is still rolling...

Not a whole lot more to update... I guess that is the downside to running the same lane week after week :D

So what's new? Not a whole lot... LOL!

We tried a new route to get from CA to GA.. Over the Sierras then down 95 to 40. That is a LONG 2 lane highway!! And not many places to stop, potty or otherwise! However it did make us $15 richer... Middle of the night, almost to the NV/AZ border, a casino with parking...run in, use potty, drop $20 on a roulette table (that and Pi Gow are my favorites) and hit the first spin, walk away after a miss on the next... They paid me to use their potty... LOL! It seems to be a few (100+/-) shorter, but unless its good weather, I'll pass on that route.

So we are on schedule to be in ATL about 1900... And our appt isn't until 0300... That is with not really pushing hard, but not really stopping much either.

So that's what's been happening with us... Bye for now :D

    Wedge and Bumpy Thank this.

GRRR! Safety (the dept) really gravels my ###!! (My Dad's favorite saying) We drop in Rocklin, then line 5 home (20 miles). When its time to head back to Rocklin we line 5 to the store or Starbucks or Mel's near there, then line 5 it back to Rocklin... They are saying we aren't to line 5 it from home to Rocklin... So lets say we had a private vehicle (which our truck is when we are on line 5) and we head to Rocklin... Are we to be 'on duty driving' then?? We called and checked with the FMCSA and yep, we are doing right... But 'they' have their panties in a bunch and REMOVED our line 5! Also 'edited' our logs for us and now want us to approve them... They were right to begin with... I don't approve of YOUR changes!!

    Wedge and BigByrd47119 Thank this.

Actually, if Rocklin is a Company Terminal, Safety is correct. You cannot log to and from home to a terminal on line 5. Sure is great that this is the worst thing happening now.:biggrin_25525:

Rocklin is where we drop one load and pick up the next one the next day... During that time we are off duty. We are then using our truck as a private vehicle (since we don't have any other vehicle at our disposal, we run to the store to restock, visit family, stuff like that using our truck to get there) which would be line 5. Once we get back to Rocklin (the point of dispatch), we are once more on the clock. Logs are to log what the DRIVER is doing, not the vehicle. If that was the case, and we drove our private vehicle (bicycle, bus, motorcycle) to our truck in Rocklin (which is the point of dispatch) we would have to also log THAT as on duty. We have called the FMCSA to clarify, because this wasn't the first time it came up. PLUS for them to try to dictate to us (contractors) how to conduct our business, that puts us in the 'employee' category, and that's a whole OTHER bucket of worms!!

PS... True that!! If this is all we have to complain about... I'm happy!! But let's see what tomorrow brings... We have a "meeting" at 0830. Which totally sucks, because we were going to be able to babysit our Grandson on Thursday, and now we can't!!

You are absolutely correct and safety is wrong. Hope you get it straightened out.

Thanks for the updates, I like reading them. I even liked the road numbers, since I've been on the 95 to the 40 (at least the one across Nv and Az) but I seem to recall a section of 93 is involved. Dang where is my Deluxe truckers atlas (in my best Joe Dirt accent). J

I know the line 5 stuff is part of a log book, but's its still Chinese arithmetic to me, and I'm putting that off for now. Ha Ha

Well it came down to basically... "It's company policy, and this is how WE want the FMCSA rules interpreted"... So we will continue on with Central... For now at least... :)
