Good Luck!! When are you two going to be bonafide Owner-Ops?? Really..I'm really pulling for ya and cant think of anyone else around I want to see succeed at this..

Except for my nephew who is making payments on a Truck he "bought" a few months ago;and the reason for that is the fact he owes me $$ now-and a LOT of it!!:biggrin_255::biggrin_2559:

Our lease is up June of next year... By then we should have a good chunk of change in the 'over mileage' account. If we don't end up buying 'Matilda', it will go bye bye. If we do buy the truck, that amount gets put TOWARD the purchase... So our plan is 80% sure we are going to purchase this truck... But a lot can happen in a year!!

Bit of an up date... We are on VACATION! One FULL week... Man does this feel good! We've been running well (knocking on wood) so we have the money set aside to cover static expenses... Plus it's our 30 year wedding anniversary, so we will be heading to Reno via Amtrak as our 'gift' to each other.

During our time off we've (so far) been able to get the truck in and out of the shop... Recall work and belt replacements... We are at 480K miles now, so more and more 'work' is coming out of our pocket... So we've upped our maintenance withholding (we don't use Central's... Except to cover static cost of the lease payment) to cover possible increase in maintenance costs.

When we get back from Reno, I'm going to take the time to get into the truck and clear out 'stuff' we thought we would need in there, or have collected, and get it OUT of there!! OMG there is so much 'stuff' we don't use, but just carry around 'just in case'... AND to do a THOROUGH cleaning!!

Well off to breakfast with friends we haven't seen in over a year... By for now!!

Congrats on the wedding anniversary and enjoy your trip to Reno. Don't gamble all your money away or it is back to the mine :biggrin_25525:. Been running back and forth to CA, but never seem to be in Sacramento on a Friday. Got a couple of days off myself and see what next week will bring.

Well the trip to Reno was a success... Not only did we have fun, we also had our first corporate annual meeting for our LLC... So the transportation and accommodations were picked up by the 'Company'.

One of the things that has really weighed on our minds being 1099 contractors is the health insurance issue. If one of us worked as a company employee and the other 1099, then the company employee could get insurance to cover the other... However we were both under the 1099! We were able to do COBRA for a while but have been playing Russian Roulette over this last year and a half...

I am now proud to announce that IDIC Enterprises, LLC now has health insurance for its two member/employees!! (THANK YOU KLINGON!!) We wouldn't have been (and hadn't been) able to get insurance without being incorporated... We would then have been considered 'self employed' or 'sole proprietor' and they aren't underwriting insurance for those designations any more...

So that is our major up date... We are on our second week back, and IDIC will get a partial settlement this week... Thank goodness the LLC planned ahead and there hasn't been any missed 'paychecks' :D
