Super Singles aren't really bad. Keep them aired up and in good shape they aren't bad...

I really have to say thank you to the On Spot guys near us... The dealer/mechanic was not doing well measuring for the hardware, so they came out to our house to measure personally!! So hopefully by next week or the week after, we should be able to have them applied!!

I'm also thanking God that he has looked out for us the way he has... Another team we know, that are on a dedicated fleet we use to run, got into an accident... A roll-over... They are shaken and not SERIOUSLY hurt physically, but what this will do mentally and financially!! They also leased... My prayers are with them.

Good to hear you guys are doing alright. Sorry to hear about your friends. Accidents are PITA to deal with, but they seem to be alright. Yes, the accident might ruin their career or finances, but they still have each other. It is usually hard to see anything positive, but life can get so much worse.

I will be coming through your home town today if Peterbilt gets me out of the shop here anytime soon. I was home for a week to get truck fixed and did not make it through Oregon before something else broke. Unfortunately, I could not MacGyver it on the side of the road and had to limp it in to the shop. Now my leisurely paced trip to CA is a day late and will be a balls to wall run for me.

Is the On Spot on both drive axles or just for one? I will be interested to hear you experience with it.

We are running south on 99 right now :) passing through Stockton as I type... Will turn left in Bakersfield to find the 40... Not sure is you will be able to catch us though :(

One of these days though!! :D

The On Spot we are doing both drive axles... The rep recommended two activation switches, not one to activate both systems... I'm looking forward to them, just hope they hold up to their hype... We did clarify via Caltrans and the Highway Patrol on the use of them with SuperSingles... They are allowed, but not the 'preferred' method... So we would need ALL drive axles chained even with minimum chains required officially... Which since all that involves is a flip of a switch, no problem!! We would still need to apply the drag chains, but that's one set... No problem there :)

Its not just the ease of application though, although that's a biggy, it's the safety of being able to apply chains when we feel uncomfortable with conditions without them... Even if not required... Like 70 through KS... Packed snow, high winds... Roads are open, but... Yeah nice to have them as a back up!

What a difference a couple hours make! We run our loop weekly... So we know when we get out of our ATL stop we are going to be playing in traffic... Not fun but it's what we do. However everything aligned on the shipping side this morning at we got out of there at 0500 instead of 0700-0900... It feels like we are FLYING!! Out of ATL and into IL before noon!! NEVER have we gotten out that early... WEEEE!

Also our On Spot chains are ready... Now we just need to get in there... Unfortunately the installer only works from Sunday to Thursday... We are there late Thursday to Saturday AM... That leaves Friday to get work done on the truck... ARG! Now our next 'scheduled' week off is in December (7-13) that leaves a few day we are going to have to 'play' in the snow without them... Sigh...

WOW... Just got a message over the QC... O/O of the month for the dedicated fleet... We would like to thank our DM!! We get stickers, a free lunch at the terminal (their food is good, just have to go to the terminal to get it) and a week truck payment at our time of choosing (such as a Christmas bonus, of home time week)... NICE!!
