Don't forget the when to shutdown so your 10 break won't cost you an ontime drop.. weather needs to be factored in to.. I was two days late for a pick-up because of mid-west storm..

Well the group of the three of us - working on this trip screwed up... well sort of anyways. We counted lunch as 'on duty - but not driving' so we ran out of hours in Las Vegas... Yeah what a place to run out of hours huh?? The instructor was ok though - we realized what we did wrong, and I won't make THAT mistake again - LOL! So I'm back at the motel - letting my brain decompress and trying not to stress over the MASS of stuff I will need to memorize by Monday :biggrin_2556: Break test (can't miss a single step on that one) and pre trip inspection...

Oh and not to forget Klingon... he is back with his trainer and per text message:

My driving shift is over... 9.5 hours and 504 miles. We are on I-40, I drove today from CA mm 38 to NM mm 16. It has been cold outside... started off in CA in the low 30's and is 12 degrees right now. The sky is clear and it is beautiful out today...

What is really nice - his trainer is going to try to get him back to Fontana to upgrade - and he just might do that BEFORE I go out w/my trainer!! So I will get to see that :D I hope anyways...

    Wedge Thanks this.

Just remember, if you knew it all, or it was easy, you would not need to go to school

Well I got to touch a real live tractor (not truck) today <big silly ### grin still plastered on my face!!> We went through the 'COLA' portion of the DMV test - and the other parts of the pre trip inspection... got my hands greasy and looked in and under the truck to figure out the pre trip inspection (seeing the real parts is different than pictures). They are just teaching us only what we need to know to pass the DMV - that's OK - but I can't wait until I'm able to learn the rest of it too... such as what this connects to or what that does. Their basic answer if I try to ask those questions are - you don't need to know that right now - concentrate on this. They're right - LOL - got so much to learn without adding stuff I don't need right now. So more of this tomorrow - day off on Sunday (study and laundry day) then they will test on the COLA and pre trip on Monday. I just have to remember not to let my nerves get the best of me!! <breath - remember to breath - LOL>:biggrin_25523:

Yeah, your trainer will be the one who walks you though your first real pre-trip.

Man you are going to get along with my wife. We may need to divide the country in half, you just stay on your side of the line.

Technically oil is outside the truck, unless you are referring to vegetable oil. Just saying.:biggrin_25523:
