Put it like this today (sunday) i am down near my trucking school to sign some financial papers first thing on monday morning and honestly i was just excited to see the trucks i would be training in.lol Also I visited a Dealer lot a few weeks back that was selling a Kenworth T2000 just so i could see inside and sit behind the wheel to see what it was like to sit in the drivers chair. I was like oh yeah i can do this only thing i worry about is the book work and tests....lol

Haha nice Pain, wow that sounds kinda wrong lol. But I think thats whats getting me right now is just playing this waiting game to sign up. Im sure when I go threw Baker's program it wont be bad cause its a 20 week course and sounds super thorough, its just waiting to get signed up like i said. What sucks is they break up the semesters that you can do. You can do one in the spring, which I will be doing, but then you gotta wait till fall and finish up

What are the biggest difficulties you guys have had thus far?

TheFreightTrain, if I may ask, how does it work to have your trucking school divided?

Oh man... there have been several 'tough' things, but nothing SO bad that I can't deal with it... 1) the time separated from my husband - this is the LONGEST time apart in our 27+ years of marriage. 2) giving up the 'future' that I thought I was going to have - we built a house and I still had dreams and ideas as to what I wanted to do with it - we basically are 'giving' it to our daughter/husband/grandkid now and running away from home :D

Now the benifits of what I'm doing 1) I will get to spend time w/my husband!! For SO long we were working opposite shifts that we only got to see each other in passing. 2) We will be doing something that BOTH of us dreamed we would do in our 'retirement' and be young enough to actually DO it. 3) I am out of the 'rut' I was in before and am tackling a NEW adventure. 4) I am doing this (almost) on my own and finding out I am smart enough, strong enough, determined enough to do it. 5) I'm feeling pride in myself for being ABLE to do this and not rely on anyone else but me!!

I do have to give thanks to the folks on this forum though - LOTS of info and support. Realizing that what I'm feeling isn't so strange after all - LOL!

Well I take my practical COLA and PTI this morning - well today anyways... had so much tea last night while studying/reviewing that I tossed and turned and now can't go back to sleep - LOL - so guess where I am!! Reading the forum :D sigh...

Klingon and trainer are in Meridian, ID on their way to WA... then hopefully a load this direction so that he can 'up grade' Woo Hoo!!

I'll be back on this evening - hopefully w/GREAT news :biggrin_25525:

I wont have to relearn a lot. And im not sure why they break it up. Just something this school is known for. THey like to break up the classes for some weird reason. Ill find that out next monday when I go to pre register. Im also going to try to talk to some of the instructors or some of the students if possible to see what their input on the school is. I have a friend thats a trucker and he commented that Baker does have a good rep. Im sure thats the route im going to take though. Was toying with the idea of going to Swift's training school. But the more I think about it, I like the idea of going to the college cause their going to be more throughouh in the training, which is always a good thing and good luck with your test today :)
