I think it rides really nice. The transmission is a little sloppy, the driver's seat don't hold air, but other than that, it is pretty good.

I am setting in Portland OR. My load delivers tomorrow at 2200.
I am going to call them (they open at 9:00 tonight; not sure about the holiday) to see if they can take me early.
The trip up here, from southern California to northern Or. seemed to take for ever!
    I hate 55 mph states!

    Wedge and spuddatruckdriver Thank this.

Well.... I am setting in Portland OR., still. I unload at 9:00 pm tonight 46 miles away. DM is trying to get the planner to let this up for a local driver to deliver and have me drop it in a yard so I can take another run.

But it is not looking good! There is not much to do around here... I am at the Pilot on I-5 at ext 263. I have netflix but on this notebook of mine, the video streaming is really the pits. It takes 15 minutes to buffer 5 minutes of movie. I wish there was a "red box" around or even a video rental store to rent movies.... I did pick up (for a $1) a dvd of the orignal Star Trek with 4 shows on it.... Watched those, I watch the moive Firefox, and all 3 of the Dune movies.... hummmm....

    Wedge Thanks this.

I just came REAL close to PEEING MY PANTS!
I am setting here in the truck stop, playing on my computer. A truck is pulling into the space next to me. It was a sharp angled turn (the same way I can in last night and took a couple of trys) So I started up and pulled up for him, let him get squared in his spot and then backed back into mine. No Problem.... But a minute or two later, I am setting here and then, the smoke just starts ROLLING OUT from under the cab of my truck! I jump out grab my fire ext. and I am getting read to pull the pin and start spraying (looking for flames). The wind shifts and then I see that it is coming out of the exhaust pipe for the bunk heater.... WOW I didn't realize that it smoked that much. Do they normally smoke a lot?

Wow... I just got to witness a REAL PROFESSTIONAL Trucker....
Did a blind side back into a parking place, hit right between the lines without pulling forward and the phone he was holding to his ear, never left his ear.... wow....

Nope his name is Tony... I couldn't have asked for a better one. He has even helped Klingon out with questions he's had... so in a way he is training two people at the same time - LOL!

    Klingon Thanks this.

Not as much driving today - but I did get to drive in 'snow'... well if you want to call it that. Wisconsin - its in the 20's - and windy. The snow is almost a sand texture. Not the same type I'm use to seeing in the Sierra's. It wasn't sticking though - and I let the trainer do the truckstop parking just in case :biggrin_25524: It was a pull through that we found, so I wouldn't have had a problem, but better safe than sorry!! We unload/drop at 0500 and then scheduled for a pick up at 0600 - that will be a bit tight - then running to AZ :) Looking forward to warmer weather - this 20* stuff is down right COLD!! I am so glad I found a deal on UGG boots - my feet are toasty :biggrin_25525:

Lady k, great that you got good trainer! Dh's was a good one too-central must have a few that are professional!
We have been out non stop since Feb.2, brief stop at home on way to Laredo Tx. Now sitting at kraft in Atlanta for 8hrs-Oy!
Anyway, there with you regarding warm weather, after being in Nebraska at -20, Tx was a nice respite.
I am getting my truck legs and figuring out a lot of the "quirks"
My biggest issue is still the truck stops. But thank goodness the showers are there!
Heading off to Richmond, va whenever they get us loaded!

celticwolf and Lady K Thank this.
