Well, this is going to be tight! I am unloading as I type. I am going to spend the night here. I load 8 miles away at 0900. (I'm still in Portland OR.) I will then be going to MD 2700+ miles. to unload on 2-28.
However this is where is gets tricky; I have to be back in Ca. no later than 3-4 to renew my CDL. CA. DMV only gave me a 60 interm and not a 90 day.
So after I drop, that only gives me 4 days to get back to CA.

If you aren't able to make it, talk to your DM. My husband was stuck in that brutal storm a few weeks ago and couldn't make it back, and they were able to do something via fax (we are CA also).

Maybe you can haul that load a good portion of the way and do a transfer-call and then find a back haul to Cali if you're cutting it close on time. Some parts of MD aren't what you call a cake walk, plus, they just got hit with a big snow storm.

Look over the time on that run. If the receiver leaves you hanging, you could end up short on time to get back. Make sure you CYA. :biggrin_25525:

I saw the same thing once at a T/S on I85 in SC. While I was sitting in my truck eating lunch, a white Prostar (no company logo) did a blind side back into the last available parking space with no help and no pull up.

It takes a lot of practice to execute a move like that on the first shot. :yes2557:

WOW - what a trip :) we have gone 4500 miles since we started moving on the 17th... and I'm proud to say I've done quite a few of those miles :D we are on our way to Tolleson AZ with our load from WI (Hillshire Farms - man does that place smell good!!) Then heading to Yuma for a 'produce' load and heading back up to IL. I still hunt around for the gears - but the trainer is all 'you are doing great'... good to hear, but I get frustrated ... yeah I know - it will come - and practice, practice, practice :biggrin_25511:

Driving today though - heading the other way in New Mexico - I was amazed at just how beautiful this country is. I was wishing I was seeing it for the first time w/Klingon - and not 'Tony'... although he was sleeping so I guess I was seeing it on my own... I can't wait to share it w/Klingon though... that and with the camera handy :yes2557:

Well off to do some reading and trying to catch up on everyones thread... I haven't had much time to be on line... I've been having withdrawls - LOL :biggrin_25523:

Congrat LadyK. It sounds like you and Klingon are both doing really good. It also sounds like you've got a good trainer. After all the horror stories you hear about trainers it's refreshing to hear when people get good ones! Keep up the good work and remember the shifting will be easier in time, like you said, practice practice practice!

You think Hillshire Farms smells good, just wait until you get to Hershey PA. Like sitting in a cup of hot cocoa.
