Well... I am setting here in IL. Had to stop driving last night at 1am. My heater/defroster motor has desided to work only when it wants too... I am setting here with 19 hours of driving ahead of me and only 24 hours to make it... I am going to be cutting this one REAL CLOSE... If the heater keeps working....
I am setting here watching it snow. I has been for the last few hours.... Best part about it is, the outside tiemp is only 36 degrees and to snow is not sticking to the ground... Yet!
I am just waiting now for my 10 hours in the sleeper to be over so I can start running again... andother 1hr 45 min. -
Hey, if anyone know the trick to "hot wiring" the heater in a W9 so it will stay on, please let me know....
I am going to hit the shop in Henderson to get this fixed. Good thing the load is going to Road Runner in Denver. -
Wish you luck. Keep a few bags of fresh fruit and vegetables in a cooler in your truck. Alot of the Wal-marts dont like trucks parking in their lot it is better to park at a truck stop near a Wal-mart. And get some exercise.

Theres a Flying J at Airport Blvd in Aurora. (east side of Denver) The next exit is Tower Road, (headed east) it has a Wally world with truck parking.....stock up while you're there! I can't tell you the exit numbers, but its on I70 headed east out of Denver. The hook is on the south side of 70, the Wally's on the north at the next exit. (headed east.) If you park at the J, you can walk it, its about 2 miles one way though, due to street layout. If you get off at the exit for the hook, you can see the shopping center with Wally's in it from the top of the ramp if you look NE. That same shopping center has a Wally's, Home Depot, Best Buy, Petsmart, and some other smaller stores including an office depot. There is a Mc D's across the street from the hook as well, and an international truck center (McCandless is its name I think.)

Hey Klingon why not just kick your bunk heater on?

Well I'm now sitting in the SLC term... we have a trailer that is partially preloaded and need to pick it up for the rest of the fill tomorrow - eventually it will go to Washington. Man have I put in the miles!! I find that while I'm driving, I don't feel as tired as I actually am. I can tell that I'm really tired when I try to exit and have difficulty with my gears... SO FRUSTRATING!! I am getting better though - and I need to learn where my limits are. Tonight will be a good night sleep though - the truck is parked at the terminal - so no bouncing or engine noise - that will be a nice change.
I have been doing the early morning shift - so some 'dark' driving... not really 'night' time since I am getting up from a sleep period. THAT makes it nice!! So usually up and driving by 4 am, then off the road at about 2... that gives me just under 10 hr (because I do stop to pee along the way) and that keeps it so I don't hit the dreaded 34 hour reset!!
We just might be able to keep that schedule too - if Klingon agrees. One of us from 0400 to 1359, the next from 1400 to 2359 - that will give us 4 hours 'down time' together. Well that's tentative - LOL! We'll see how it works out once we get together. Let me tell you though - even though I have a wonderful trainer - and we get along fine - I'm still counting the days until I get to hop on Klingon's (and my) truck!!
Approx - 12 days and counting!! -
Glad your doing so good Lady K.
