My late Uncle Ira used to believe a good story was better than a true one. He has many disciples to this day and most of them seemed to have gravitated to the trucking industry.

It's much harder to consolidate freight now a days but we still do it....hell I remember in 2003 when freight was at its best...I loaded one owner from OH back to OR/WA with 5 loads he averaged over 4bucks a mile on all his 5 picks 5 drops and he bought a newer reefer from that one trip...good times...now its usually 2 full loads sometimes 3....but not 5 and not over 4bucks a mile lol

Hmmm...let me try this.....

Yes and others got BURNT doing the MULTI LOADS in 1. Ex driver of mine bought his own truck / reefer , took a good payng customer with him.
Freight paid over $2.65 / mile , never a full load. Guy got greedy , picked up his 8 skids of BIG $ freight , and planned on topping off with more stuff from 2 other places.
1St place product was not ready , was delayed ,
2nd place loaded on time but delivery was after the delivery time for the BIG $ stuff.
He had to get load taken off resorted and reloaded , more time & $ wasted.
Gets to 1st place , sorry not accepting the freight ,, gets to the ORIGINAL destination , they question the FACT that there is OTHER freight on the trailer as they PAID for sole use.
Now he still has the 3rd places freight on the trailer as well as the refused freight.
3Rd place says drop the trailerwill get to it in a day or so , and still had the refused freight to take care of.
Ended up costing him more $ than he made , and lost the BIG $ customer. -
