About half what it does now. Verizon may have a LARGER network, but not better.

The technology being used on Verizon cannot support some of the main functions of the iPhone, such as being able to make a call and use other functions on the phone as well, IE: GPS and internet.

Verizon is in the process of rolling out their 4G network which will be online later in 2010 and will have that capacity. As for the whole network thing, my cousin has an iPhone, lives in the suburbs just outside of Detroit well within one of the few 3G available areas available to AT&T users in the state of Michigan. We both looked up the same information with our phones and my Verizon LG EnV Touch not only found the information faster, but his kept losing it's signal. He complains all the time of dropped calls. My sister and brother in law also have AT&T and complain of poor service. This is in a major metropolitan area. I would hate to see what the service is like in rural areas. Oh yeah, I would hear about it when I was using my phone and other drivers couldn't get service. :biggrin_2559:

SPRINT already HAS "4-G" in over 17 US cities. I am just waiting for them to roll it out in a few more, then I am up-grading my card for 4-G.

I use the Motor Trend Max 4x or whatever it's called, but I'm sure any of them will work. Bluetooth is pretty universal, IMO.

Yeah, I agree here BUT the service with att sucks. I had both 1st and 2nd gen but got fed up with att. The phone is great but now I am using a droid. This phone will give ipone a run for its money. I WILL definetly get another iphone when att is not exclusive though.

Being in the Bay Area doesn't help cuz it seems like everybody has one and atts system is overwhelming at times. BtW, the game world war is pretty bad.

Oh yeah, the google maps on the droid is much better. It has car mode for navigation. Don't need to buy gps now.

I've got the blue Parrot headset. It's terrific.

Maybe I'm just lucky. We've had fantastic service with Att. I've also had verizon, sprint, and us cellular. We had uscc the longest out of those, but switched to Att a couple years ago and have never looked back. The customer service is the best I've dealt with, and we get great signal. I live in a rural area and drive through Chicago and Michigan both, which are supposed to be huge problem areas. No problems at all.

This thing works so well I cancelled my aircard, which was millenicom on verizon. I actually get better connection on my phone.

Btw, posting from my iPhone sitting in my rural home and have no connection probs. It seems most of the people who have a complaint would complain no matter what, or are getting second hand info.

I use motorola Rome HD stereo Bluetooth headset. goes on both ears instead of one, those mono one ear Bluetooth headsets never go loud enough to hear your call over road noise, and when you're not in your truck you can use them to listen to iTunes via Bluetooth. it's amazing.

as for AT&T network, when I am in a 3g area (which I admit is less often than I'd like) I consistantly download 700kbs, which is over 3/4 of a MB per second. those MOST I've seen my dedicated sprint 3g wireless card do anywhere is 270KBs.

but my iPhone is jailbroken, I downloaded over 35 gigs last month in movies on my iPhone last month alone.

Not that I would want one, but I was under the impression that headsets that cover both ears are a no-no when in transit. Just something else that would get me in trouble. The Blue Parrot is PLENTY loud. I've never had it close to top volume when using it with my phone. Road noise or whatever. It's a good headset.
